Hotel Villa Grunewald mit Café und Bistro

What a find. Super-comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms, good breakfast and friendly management and staff. It may be only a small hotell but the welcome is BIG and it is in a superb quiet position overlooking the park yet close to the town centre shops, sights, bars and restaurants.

Excellent staff. Very polite and efficient. Superb location within walking distance of all sights, shops and restaurants of the charming historic spa town of Bad Nauheim. Anyone who says differently has mental issues.

We are bicycle touring unsupported through Germany. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years large and small, in European countries and the USA. This was one of the most disappointing hotels we have ever stayed in for $300/night. The poor impression began with the heavy young lady with dark hair. When we first arrived, by bicycle we were standing outside the front of the hotel organizing ourselves prior to entering the hotel to check in. The young lady saw us and rushed out to confront us with a curt manner which seemed to be wondering what we were doing standing in front of her hotel. When I explained we had a reservation for two nights she seemed less antagonistic. But I had to explain to her that we were not ready to check in and that we would be in to do so in a few minutes. Our reaction to her was immediately negative as she had a frosty demeanor. We grabbed our luggage and went in to register. After giving her our information she proceeded to show us to our room t two flights up. Keep in mind we were each carrying 40 pounds of luggage. She started to go past the elevator when I asked her if she minded if we used the elevator for the steep 2 flight of stair climb. Apparently it hadn’t entered her mind. Then later she asked us if we would be needing to use their internet. Really??? I’m checking in ti a $300/night hotel and you wonder if we would want to use your internet? Then later we asked her if we could have 2 extra bath towels. Her response-“well then you would have 4 towels.” Very good- you can count. The next disappointment was the breakfast buffet we paid €16.90 each. The buffet made you request them to give you a cup of coffee from a machine. What you don’t think I can operate a coffee machine I’ve been using in 20 plus other hotels in the last 5 weeks? Also, the fruit on the buffet appears to be from a can and most of it was rotten. Word to the wise- don’t pay for their breakfast and walk 100 meters to the Backerei. The staff, other than the dark haired young lady were pleasant enough but everything about this hotel is overrated. For the same money or less you can get a better experience at another hotel. We would never stay here again and we rarely ever say that about a hotel.

We stayed one night in the Elvis room and it was an Amazing experience. The room did look very authentic with a few obvious exceptions. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was wonderful. The town itself is real Germany and so pretty. If you are an Elvis fan I would highly recommend.

What lovely staff, very helpful, amazing buffet breakfast, stayed in the elvis room, was so special, original, can imagine elvis there, went out on the balcony for drinks and felt very special when people were laying gifts at the shrine waving up at us. Lovely little town, bumped into locals several times, all friendly, visited irish pub few times, they do nice food at reasonable prices, all pubs sell the applewine, yummy, lots of cute restaurants and bakeries, easy to find elvis monuments, all within 10 mins walk from each other, clean town with lots of green open space too. Went on train and bus with mobility scooter, very easy, friedberg is the next town, also very nice, visited the army barracks of elvis, preferred bad nauheim though, a must for every elvis fan, met fans from around the world, cost us around 850 pounds for 2 adults staying in the elvis suite for 2 nights and standard room for 2 nights with flights from Heathrow. Lovely time.

Wir wollten auf den Spuren von Elvis, Bad Nauheim kennen lernen. Das Cafe geht so, muss man aber nicht. Wir hatten mehr erwartet! Für ein Cafe konnte nicht alles angeboten werden und der Cappuccino kam z.B. aus der Kaffeemaschine, nicht frisch gemacht. Schade.
