Elephant Rock Luxury Camp Tarangire

We stayed only 2 nights but they were very comfortable. The people are all so friendly and helpful. The Manager, Manish, does a fantastic job. He’s upgraded everything since we stayed in 2017, when it was called Tarangire Ballon Camp. Nice showers, beautiful rooms. Power in the rooms! It’s for a limited time but a welcome addition. The food was delicious.

Superb lodge. Spacious and comfortable family tent with two separate bedroom/bathroom areas and a shared lounge. The manager goes above and beyond to meet the needs and desires of guests, and the extremely kind staff takes great care of everyone. Many thanks to all. The food is varied and excellent, and cleanliness is impeccable. The sunset from the pool is breathtaking—a magnificent place to visit Tarangire National Park. Highly recommended!

Nice and rustic lodge with the beautiful view of Tarangire. The lodge employees worked hard and they expressed concerns for our safety. Our tour guide was allowed to dine with us on our last night in Tanzania. Good beer, good food, nice atmosphere!

EXCELLENT! Balloon Camp Tarangire is our #1 choice for LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION for the best photo opportunities in Tarangire National Park. The staff is always very welcoming and the food is excellent! The rooms are on the luxury side of the scale with comfortable beds, a deck, and hot shower. I highly recommend Balloon Camp Tarangire!

My family’s experience at Tarangerie Balloon Camp was nothing short of incredible. We were immediately greeted with warm hospitality from Ahmed, the manager, and his staff. After we enjoyed a delicious meal in the dining area, we settled into our luxurious tents which had exquisite amenities and, miraculously, a hot shower heated by coal. The most incredible part of this camp was the elephants that walked right past our tents and greeted us right after we woke up and just as we went to bed. After spending two nights at this camp, we 100% recommend staying at this camp and would definitely return for our next safari!

My buddy and I stayed at balloon camp tarangire while on Safari. It was a wonderful location. So close to nature. We had an amazing time. Great food and service. Olivia, Rachel, and Akmed were phenomenal. Also, the bartender was really nice. Thank you so much for having us! Kathryn and Sandra

This was our first stay in Tarangire National Park. And we were very happy with the service, accomodation and wildlife at the lodge. People were nice and very personal. The food was very good and the rooms were big, clean and private. You sleep in big kind of tents, which makes the whole experience more authentic. We got up 3 in the morning because 4 elephants were eating the trees 12ft from us. VERY EXCITING. In the morning two lions passed through camp just before breakfast and every night/morning zebras stood outside the tent. You should choose this place if you want an authenic and not polished stay. Such a wonderful place…Otto, the manager, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He made made sure we were well take care of during our stay. Our server Clinton was also amazing! He waited on us for our meals during the stay and was super friendly. We loved his different napkin folds at dinner!!! The camp itself was beautiful. The rooms were spacious, clean, had great bathrooms (separate toilet, sink/wash area and shower areas. It felt like it was out of an African travel magazine.

We didn‘t feel welcome in this camp. When we arrived there was no one to welcome us, the reception was empty. After some minutes someone arrived but it seemed that these two persons are not familiar with reception work. They asked me to fill out a form, but just a few fields. Then they accompanied us to our room. The lady explained all details of the room, every switch. She stepped everywhere with her walking-shoes, even into the shower. The room was very hot, no one had taken care to open a window etc. some time before our arrival. Then we went into the bar area to have a coffee. Two staff members were lying on the sofa streaming a movie (one of them was the real reception lady, the one who wasn’t there when we arrived). They stopped the streaming not till some more minutes. Someone else - very friendly - arrived and offered us drinks. He asked us about passports and more data he would need. I was surprised as we have been told at the reception that they have all details. The room itself urgently needs a renovation. Tent walls and ceiling had several holes and scratches. The two chairs on the balcony, especially one, had deep scratches so we thought that we would break through while sitting on the chair. Also the stairs close to bar and restaurant needs some repair, e.g. broken stairs. Overall we didn‘t like the atmosphere, old furniture, no attention to the whole location and the staff who didn’t deliver a professional service. We decided to leave the camp earlier being aware that they won’t refund us the second night (we had booked two nights but left after one day). I was quite surprised that this camp is described as a luxury location, this was maybe the case years ago.
