We stayed at the Blue Harbour Hotel for a week. While the rooms looked nice, they were poorly maintained and could benefit from better cleaning and some minor repairs. Although rooms were cleaned daily, it wasn’t thorough enough—stains on the makeup table and dust were often overlooked. Towels were replaced daily, but some were stained or very worn. We booked a double room and were told we were “lucky” to be upgraded to a junior suite, which initially made us excited for a great start to our holiday. However, the suite we were given had a terrace right on the street, with no privacy and expected noise. We requested a room change, but unfortunately, we had to endure a sleepless first night due to loud disturbances from drunk holidaymakers. While the staff’s customer service was generally good, things weren’t handled as promptly as we’d hoped, especially since the reception informed us the hotel wasn’t fully booked. We eventually had our room changed, but not until the next day at 2 pm. We opted to leave our packed luggage in the room and have it moved by staff so we didn’t waste the entire day waiting. The new room, while quieter and with better amenities, was a standard double room with an inland view—not the garden view advertised when we booked. Still, it was an improvement over the junior suite. Unfortunately, on our third night, a group of youths checked in next door and were extremely loud, talking and blasting music. The phone in our room wasn’t working despite us reporting it earlier, so after an hour of noise, we went to the reception. A staff member intervened, and while the noise briefly stopped, it resumed even louder after he left, leading to yet another sleepless night. For a hotel aiming to offer a relaxing stay, this kind of noise disruption shouldn’t be allowed, especially when you can hear even the smallest movements from neighboring rooms. The breakfast was basic and became repetitive, but it was understandable for a hotel of this size. Overall, while the hotel has a pleasant design, good location, and some potential, improvements in maintenance, noise control, and service efficiency are needed for it to live up to the “boutique hotel” label.
