Location is very convenient and walkable, and staff was nice and accommodating. Parking costs an additional NZ$15 per night. The room windows had no screen so flies would come in, and the room bathroom emitted a strong toilet smell. No separate hair conditioner provided. Room has high ceilings, and there is a kitchen outside but also can heat water, microwave food, and toast bread inside the room. Good in-room beverage selection too.

Good location and excellent value for money Very spacious room with good amenities Minor issues were that the room was quite minimalist - for example no shelf in the shower area and I wasn't able to communicate a late check in without phoning, although think this is a more general issue with Trip than the hotel itself

The room was in good condition and the location was very near to nearby restaurants and other attractions.

Gamma Hotel is in a convenience place to stay. We took public bus to Mt Eden, just walked 5 min to bus stop. Walked 10min to Train station, Woolworths, and University of Aucland, 15min to SkyTower and some attractions. Hotel has 1 public kitchen, not much people to use it.

Location is quite good. Not far from Britomart. However the hotel is on a hill, which doesn't make an easy walk with your luggage (if you are coming by walking). No lift in the hotel, so after a long trip, we were quite tired to have to carry our luggage upstairs. Service from the lobby was not good. We were asking simple questions but we had the feeling the staff was annoyed. Room was quite big. Clean, but a bad smell was coming out from the bathroom sink. Overall average. We would not go back to this hotel if we are visiting Auckland again.

My second time staying in this hotel. The room was huge, with all necessary facilities in good condition. The fridge, microwave and electric kettle are quite handy. The location is very convenient, both for sightseeing and for getting to and from the airport. The largest and cheapest supermarket in the area (Woolworths) is also just a few hundred meters away. The only issue was a bit of noise from the traffic outside, but not too bad. Overall, great value for money.

We had to change some dirty towels and the staff did it but with a very bad mood. Also there were cockroaches at the kitchen early in the morning. The room was ok but without place to put the luggage. Parking lot was very convenient.

Good value and spotlessly clean. We chose the Gamma Hotel for the price, ability to park the car there for $15 over night, and the location.' We couldn't expect anything more for the price, friendly helpful staff and close to the restaurant area and university. We will stay again.

Our second stay at the Gamma as the location and price is absolutely fantastic. It’s not got the most upmarket feel to the hotel in the lobby areas but the rooms are spacious, linens clean and towels changed daily. Staff are all lovely and welcoming too. Will continue to stay here each time we visit Auckland.

The location is great, a few minutes walk to the shops and restaurants! It is located in CBD. Staff are friendly. The room is neat and has all the basic amenities. The hotel doesn't have an elevator or ramp, not friendly for people with disabilities, or anyone that has way too much luggage.

The bathroom and the air-conditioner smell not really good, something like urine smell from the AC, and moldy from bathroom. I think the Hotel should consider about it, I was very sick those days.

I would recommend Gamma to anyone who would like to be in Auckland’s CBD. It is the best value for money in the area and lower down the hill than the Quandrant and Pullman. Book the Queen rooms on the upper floor and not the B rooms in the basement.  The is not elevator but only one floor to climb.
