The Glendevon Hotel

I was present in-the bar of this establishment last week when I saw an awful incident involving a person who I took be either the owner or manager. He was berating a female member of staff in a shocking manner in front of patrons. He then used awful language to a customer and his family. I do not know what caused the issue but to see this in a quite corner of Scotland was most upsetting

I witnessed shocking behaviour towards a group of paying customers by a member of staff who was using foul language towards them. Apparently there had be some confusion over a table reservation and the aggrieved party were trying politely to discuss it with a member of staff who became aggressive and used extremely foul language towards them. I will never visit this hotel again due to the aggressive behaviour of that member of staff - indeed it was frightening to witness.

Hotel undergoing some renovations - redecorating that has been completed is nice although maybe lacking attention to detail. Staff were lovely especially the ladies on breakfast- attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the noise at night will mean that we won’t be back - loud music from the bar meant ear plugs were a necessity but when closing time came even they didn’t help! Breakfast was nice although inconsistent over our stay No one asked us about our experience either during or at checkout - disappointing

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Sean was excellent and drove us to The Gleneagles Hotel as our lift did not turn up! and we had to be there at a specific time for a special occasion. The rooms are clean, and modern. The breakfast was also excellent and service great. The only issue, was the lack of a full length mirror, chair, and electrical sockets require to be upgraded to accommodate charging stations.

Oh dear... Pleasant enough rooms but the whole place is very tired and looks rundown, the outside parking area is a hoot... However this is surpassed by THE NOISE.... Bedroom doors are spring loaded other guests being knobs don't have the decency to try holding them so a bomb going off every 2 minutes. Then there's the pub quiz to add to the delight. Currently sitting in room 3 as the pub quiz has started downstairs, volume is loud enough to drown out concorde. Absolutely not at all suitable if you are looking to get some sleep or like me have a early start tomorrow. Not cheap either. I would pass and maybe try a local air bnb.

In need of some TLC but did the job for a visit playing golf at Gleneagles. Great breakfast, decent pints at the bar. Staff were excellent in getting us back to Gleneagles, taking us without a moment’s hesitation, as taxis in the town need to be pre booked

Dropped in for lunch whilst looking round Auchterarder. Its mainly an Indian food menu. Service was good and the food was excellent. Thoroughly recommend the Szechwan chicken if you like spicy food. Good choice of beers on tap. Little bit strange having to pay for the food and drinks separately. Would definately go back.

We had a lovely stay at the Glendevon. The room was clean and comfortable with an excellent shower room and tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was delicious as was the evening meal we had in the bar restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive and we'd definitely stay here again.

We chose the Glendevon Hotel as an overnight stay as we were in the area for afternoon tea at Gleneagles. We had the warmest of welcomes and our room was excellent. Very modern with traditional and contemporary touches, spotlessly clean and had a great bathroom. The most minor of quibbles was the lack of a mirror in the bedroom itself for hairdrying. Customer service was above and beyond. The chap who welcomed us dropped everything he was doing to give us a lift to the Gleneagles Hotel, when we asked about taxis. That was really appreciated. Downstairs is a busy, bustling local bar and full of friendly folk. We enjoyed our nightcaps in there. Breakfast was included and it was fine Scottish breakfast fare - I recommend the square sausage and fried egg role if you don’t want the full breakfast This is a great base for activities around Auchterarder and we will happily go back again - that way we can try out the curries for which the kitchen is famed.
