Marble House

We always stay at Marble House en route back to the UK. It's close to the metro, centrally located and within easy walking distance of popular attractions like the Acropolis, Plaka and Monastiraki. Plenty of restaurants and breakfast places nearby. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and excellent value for central Athens. Coming and going is easy via reception or door code. Easy booking process directly with the friendly management team of Nancy, Christos and Manos .

I went for the third time in this hotel, marvelous location, very quiet, although located in a very busy district, 15 mn from the Acropolis, and near metro. This time, we had booked the apartment because we were with three children and it was easier to cook a little in the evening! This hotel is very clean, the staff very efficient, even when keys were forgotten in the apartment in the sunday evening! Thanks a lot! no breakfast since COVID but there are three bar or bakeries very near we will come again!

What a charming place to stay! The location can't be beat. It was about a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis! Manos, CHRISTOS, & Nancy were very accommodating & helpful. The building was quiet & in a neighborhood that felt very secure & safe. Dining & coffee very near by.

We stayed at Marble House for three nights and our opinion is absolutely positive. Christos, Nancy and Manos were more than kind with their warm welcome, their friendliness (thanks Nancy for our chats!) and their many tips for our first visit to Athens. They organised taxis for us and were invaluable when we had to change our plans due to a sudden ferry strike. The first two nights we stayed on the second floor of the hotel, in a basic but very clean and comfortable room (although the bathroom was small). It was a shame about the inconvenience caused by the rudeness of some guests, who one night started using a shared bathroom next to our room very noisily. On the third day, as we had already agreed, we moved to the “apartment” on the ground floor. This solution was definitely worth the small difference in price. It was an excellent accommodation, with outdoor space, a huge bedroom, a nice sitting room, a beautiful bathroom with a fantastic shower and a well-equipped kitchenette. We highly recommend it. The hotel is in a quiet location and very convenient for visiting the centre of Athens. The Acropolis is within easy walking distance. The neighbourhood is full of restaurants and bars frequented mainly by Greeks, less touristy and more authentic than those in the Plaka or Monastiraki areas. Piraeus is about twenty minutes away, traffic permitting, and the Flix underground station is just a stone's throw away.

The 3 of us were very happy with Marble House Hotel, the staff were extremely helpful with travel tips and they suggested 2 small restaurants to which we went most days for breakfast and evening meal and had authentic Greek food. The hotel does not supply any food so these tips were gratefully received. The staff at the hotel helped with our luggage and we could leave our cases there all day before our evening taxi to the airport. The rooms were clean and lots of towels available and the shower very close by. We will definitely return to this hotel but book well in advance for rooms with a shower. We plan to email the hotel and ask for the same taxi service to bring us from the Dock to Marble House and have that same taxi service to take us to the airport in the late afternoon. The hotel is easily accessible to the centre of Athens.

Nancy, Christos & Manos of Marble House, Athens, were fantastic ‘hosts’. The three of them were very helpful sharing their local knowledge so we could find the lay of the land. The hotel is picturesque and the rooms are tidy, well-furnished & clean. The bathrooms - ditto! Wifi is excellent. The hotel is also well-situated, close to town & to transport such as buses & the metro. I would highly recommend Marble House as a place to stay in Athens.
