Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel, Costa Smeralda

The place is beautiful, nothing to add. A very special mention to perfect service. From an Italian point of view, definitely overpriced (not the room itself but everything else)

We were deciding between the Romazzino and even pricier Hotel Cala di Volpe. After speaking with the hotel directly (we have stayed at Belmond properties prior and they were very accommodating to us as return guests) and knowing that Belmond had overtaken operations we decided to stay at Romazzino (Premium room with sea view). You will not be disappointed with the service at this hotel. The server to guest ratio at the hotel's restaurants feels like it's 2 servers for every single guest. Our room was no renovated but not super dated. We had a nice balcony, large comfortable king bed (enough pillows to open a pillow store), TV, multiple closets, large separate bathroom which is where I will recommend a renovation to include a separate shower vs. a tub with a large rain shower head and single glass pane which afforded no real space to shower in and the water spraying out everywhere. Water temperature was perfect and plenty of pressure. We opted for the half board which allowed us to eat at the beachside grill restaurant for lunch, and the upstairs restaurant hotel side for breakfast and dinner. I thought half board was good since some days we would get out early for activities and be back for dinner while others we would be present for lunch and out for dinner. My wife and I enjoyed all the grilled snapper and freshly made pizzas. Breakfast on half board you chose from freshly made options and could enjoy the buffet as well. The service on the beach was excellent, servers come by during the day with small snacks to cool you off, you just have to flag down a waiter to ask for drinks/snacks. They literally came over and raked the beach in front of us as well (we didn't ask, they were just cleaning during downtime). On resort water activities are booked through the concierge for yacht charters and the on-site crew at the dock for watersports. I booked a yacht charter through the concierge and they were extremely helpful and I had received a negotiated rate at one vendor better than I could find myself. We didn't really use the pools since we came here for the coast, but they looked nice, were not freezing, and usually had only a couple of people by them. We also didn't enter the kids club as we went just as a couple without a young child. We also didn't use the gym which looked brand new since we went on a bunch of hikes around the area (highly recommend you hike to the beaches nearby). Separately from this specific hotel, I will say that Sardinia in the summer is very expensive at the restaurants, taxis (from the hotel to dinner expect 50-70 euros each way depending where you go, they take a credit card and are all large air conditioned Mercedes vans), shop purchases (high end retail). Mixed cocktails at Romazzino expect 40 euros each (it would be nice if this were a more reasonable 25 per drink), Cala di Volpe were actually cheaper at about 30 euros each (still expensive), beer and wine is a normal charge. We had an amazing stay at this magical and authentic luxury Sardinian property. The accommodations, staff and service are unbeatable. The grounds, landscaping, beach, and views are absolutely unbeatable in Sardinia. This place is a 10!

The greeting upon arrival is amazing. The concierge and front desk teams delivered each and every request brilliantly. The bellman managed transport effortlessly. The bar servers made each evening special. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet etc day as well. The room are well appointed with the finest linens and thoughtful gifts…beach bag, sunscreens etc in each room. Anna Maria did a wonderful blow out in the salon. The outdoor gym was so special. It was so very nice however the drink prices were excessive at 35 euros, a ham and cheese sandwich 30 euros etc. The hotel is becoming very tired but I understand a renovation will happen over the winter. The pool was absolutely frigid and no one even sat by the pool. Even with these opportunities we found the service to compensate for other areas. We would visit this property again. The location is perfection. The views are magical and the time there was enjoyable.

This is the kind of unforgettable experience that makes you want to come back to experience all the resort has to offer. Breakfast is simply unbelievable! And the beach!!

After the splendid holiday in 2022 we decided to repeat the experience this year, again in this structure. As always, expectations were exceeded especially when we discovered that a new famous international brand took over. A wonderful place and an impeccably managed resort, above all thanks to the staff, adequately trained to always be kind, helpful, smiling and available for any need. We had just a small inconvenient at the check out as we requested to get some more time due to a delayed flight and it was denied due to the high Hotel occupancy(we understood for the period of the year), rather then that truly an amzing Reception staff. Another plus point compared to 2 years ago are the renovated restaurant (Beach restaurant) which were much more aesthetically pleasing and the Bar in the Lobby and terrace. A special mention to the entire Restaurant team: friendly but never pushy , who always approach with the right balance, friendliness. I remember in particular the elegance and professionalism of the waitress Rossana, who served us at lunches by the beach and the spontaneous and sunny smile of Giorgia.To mention also the Head of F&B Ciro a truly Italian gentleman who run the place with a lots of passion. The buffet cuisine proved to be of excellent quality, quantity and above all a vast choice, more regarding fish than meat. Excellent starters of all kinds, side dishes, main courses and desserts. In any case, it is a resort and a location that remains in the hearts of my wife and me. Rooms maybe needed a fresh start but i am sure that Belmond will revamp in the courses of the years. One thing is certain: we will be back!

This hotel goes above and beyond! Staff is fantastic, service is amazing, and the room and amenities were top notch.

Stunning hotel that needs quite a bit of work but please don’t change it to a typical french style 5 star hotel which does not fit with the Sardinian style. The rooms are tired and need revamping yet they still increased the prices which was a total shock. Thank god they will start the renovations soon. This hotel hasn’t lost all its charm as the team that work there are beyond perfect. Good restaurants are in desperate need in this hotel but overall it was lovely

We were charged €4000 per night for a 22sqm room, in which the shower, the A/C and the lights were broken. the hotel itself was filthy, stained carpets dusty and disgusting.
