DDay Aviators le Manoir

Driving down these little streets in an SUV was a challenge. It was our first time abroad and we didn't know what to expect. The countryside was delightful and the town so quaint... but the real reason we were there was to pay tribute to the men who died storming those beaches. That being said, our host and hostess were lovely people. Paul was so informative. The Manoir is a mini museum and both Paul and his wife, Anna Florence were so helpful and accommodating. The rooms were sweet, clean and pretty roomy with full baths. The breakfast (additional cost), was a typical french breakfast and you could chose what you wanted and your table was set ready for you in advance. We were a block from the beach, 1/2 hour to the American Cemetery and the other historical beaches and about 1-1/2 hours to Mont St. Michele. Our time there was wonderful and would recommend staying there again. Au revior

What a beautiful, quirky stay! Florence gave us the warmest of welcomes, the bed was super comfy, with great pillows, and breakfast was generous, with huge portions of local cheese, and home made jam. DDay Aviators, however is so much more than this. Both the bedrooms and public areas are full of tastefully placed WWII memorabilia, including a full cockpit in the breakfast room! Everything was spotlessly clean and dust free, congratulations to Florence and her team for managing this with so many artefacts around! Florence made some great recommendations for places to visit, and booked a lovely restaurant for us.vWe will definitely recommend to friends, and would love to come back ourselves. Merci beaucoup!

No es fácil escribir una opinión sobre este hotel, ya que hay varios factores a tener en cuenta. No es un hotel cómodo, especialmente si te toca, como a nosotros, una habitación en el segundo piso, ya que no hay ascensor. Si lo que buscas es una habitación moderna con todas las comodidades, este no es tu hotel. Ahora bien, si te gusta la historia y aprecias el encanto del lugar, entoneces no lo dudes. El horario de check-in es un pelín limitado, ya que solo puedes llegar entre las 16h30 y las 20h30. A nosotros no nos importó, ya que hay muchísimos sitios para ver en la zona hasta la hora del check-in, y tampoco tendría mucho sentido llegar más tarde de las 20h30 si pretendes cenar. El parking es con reserva y nosotros no lo sabíamos, pero pudimos encontrar sitio fácilmente frente al hotel (gratis desde las 19h00 hasta las 09h00) y el dueño nos ofreció aparcar en su parking privado al día siguiente para que pudiéramos ver el pueblo con tranquilidad. Nos atendió muy amablemente (en inglés) y nos dio muy buenos consejos sobre sitios para visitar. También nos enseñó el hotel y nos contó las historias detrás de cada objeto de la colección. El desayuno es bueno, pero tienes que elegir la noche anterior lo que quieres tomar. El salón del desayuno es muy agradable. La habitación muy amplia, dividida en 3 estancias (salita de estar, dormitorio y baño). La cama es comodísima!
