Postresidenz am See

To be honest, we choose Arosa and the Postresidenz am See because we were able to book 4 nights between Christmas and New Years. Many of the "big name" hotels we initially considered required 7 nights. We LOVED everything about the hotel and Arosa. The hotel is directly at the train station, so it's super simple to arrive and depart. The train from Chur is free if you show that you have ski passes. The hotel isn't luxurious. The lobby is small and unimpressive; but the staff was great. The person who checked us in had already been super helpful answering some questions ahead of time. Because the hotel is newer and Arosa is smaller, the information available online wasn't always complete, so I did pester the staff with emails ahead of time. We had a two bedroom with a kitchen overlooking the street behind the hotel -- but you could also see the ski lifts and some of the "return to town" runs. The room was great. Super modern. Bathrooms and showers was fantastic. Plenty of storage for all that extra ski gear. The all-in-one washer dryer took some figuring out -- for an American who has never seen one -- but it was awesome to be able to wash long underwear, balaclavas, and stuff we didn't want to pack for everyday. Two of our family have celiac disease and require a strict gluten-free diet. After assuring us that their restaurant could handle it, we booked the plan with breakfast and dinner included. Arosa doesn't have a ton of restaurants, so it was great to just go downstairs. Even though we had a kitchen -- just in case -- the breakfasts were great. On that plan, dinner had a set menu with two options. My sons weren't thrilled that they couldn't have pizza, but they ended up loving all the meals -- even the stuff they would have never ordered like the local fish and soups. They did a good job with gluten-free; though they didn't have pasta which would have made our celiac son very happy. The ski locker room was fantastic. We've stayed at high-end places in Beaver Creek, Aspen, Big Ski, Deer Valley, Tahoe, and theirs was the best we've seen. You could dry boots, gloves, and helmets on specific places. It was cool. The only downside was the temperature -- it felt like 100 degrees F when you were trying to put on warm gear. I was already sweating by the time I went outside. A small price to pay for an awesome experience. Lastly, the price of our lift tickets for 3 days on the mountain were about the same price for 1/2 a day at Vail resort. We loved the mountain. The lift lines were long and uncontrolled, but we got use to it -- maybe that's the Swiss way. If they had Vail-level grooming equipment, they could have tripled the amount of available terrain -- the downside of the price. Regardless, we loved Arosa. I wanna go back. Highly recommend Arosa and the Postresidenz am See! It was great! [ I can't believe I didn't take photos. Dumb. ]

Our stay at Postresidenz am See was wonderful. The hotel’s location by the lake offered beautiful views and a peaceful setting. Our room was large, nicely decorated, and had all the comforts we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the start. The breakfast buffet had lots of tasty options, and we enjoyed relaxing in the spa after exploring the area. Postresidenz am See provided a perfect mix of comfort and excellent service. We highly recommend it for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We stayed for three nights, and it was supposed to be my husband’s birthday trip. I reserved a table at Luftpost Restaurant specifically for his birthday dinner, two days in advance, but in the end, nothing happened—not even a tiny little cake. I feel bad and awkward; the hotel had three nights to compensate us for something, but in the end, nothing happened. I told the hotel staff, and they just apologized, nothing they can do? To be fair, we loved our stay with a great frozen Obersee view. Our room was spacious, and it was a wonderful gastronomical experience. I personally appreciated the breakfast lady, as she pays so much attention to all the details. However, I will not recommend this hotel for a birthday celebration.

We loved the location of the Postresidenz Am See. No car was needed and the view from our balcony onto the lake was beautiful. We had plenty of space in our two-bedroom suite for the 4 of us. The Weisshorn lift station is right next to it and so is the train station, yet it is quiet. You can relax in the spa if you like to whilst the kids can have a quick swim in the pool. We booked with half board and the food was delicious, and the Staff throughout were friendly and very helpful. A good pick when visiting Arosa.

Amazing hotel with excellent service. Very charm staff. The spa is extremely clean and cosy. Great location in from of the lake and the slopes with good variety of activities I highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant The personal of reception and restaurant are very useful and make feel like at home
