Hôtel la Couronne

The restoration of this hotel is much welcomed and provides an important heart to the village. It is a shame that the restaurant organisation is so poor. Yet another experience this summer where service is haphazard, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes disappearing. The food, when it arrives is good. The restaurant needs direction. When we we went in June we put it down to being new (as it was comically bad). Two months later no change. But maybe they just don’t care. A wasted opportunity

We stayed here during our TMB in August 2024. This was our favorite hotel that we stayed in. The room was super cozy We loved that we could Sign in with Apple TV/ Netflix. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. The sauna and steam room were immaculate. We arrived a bit early and the hotel staff permitted us to use the wellness center while our room was being made up for us!

Stayed here during a TMB hike. Small quaint hotel right in town, a few minutes walk from the Argentiere train/bus station. Very cozy. Not much of a lobby but can use the breakfast room off the lobby in off hours which is helpful as often the wifi doesn't connect unless you are in the reception area. Room is pretty tiny with barely space to lay down your baggage or move around although the bathroom is huge in comparison - with an old fashioned big and deep tub and windows (being an old hotel not all rooms/bathrooms are the same size or layout). Electric tea kettle with tea bags provided with ceramic mugs which is nice. Bed is two twins put together a bit soft but acceptable. Bedding is quilt/duvet which seems to be the norm in Europe. We have room 31 on 3rd floor with a side mountain view. Simple room with all light colored wooden furniture, plus one wood paneled wall behind the bed, quite charming. Large closet with two extra pillows. Lighting is good. Had dinner at the attached restaurant - quite good, the dessert, a blueberry pie was delicious with a super rich crust. Ok breakfast.

Great location in town and very nice staff. The dinner is in the same building and was excellent. Front desk staff was very helpful and kind. The room was small, but who stays in the room but to sleep?

Stayed here before and after ski touring trip. Could leave all luggage there foe the week. Excellent breakfast, amazing views from room. Simona and other staff super-helpful. Went above and beyond. Short walk to Grand Montets cable.

We visited this hotel for a long weekend. Everything was good; front desk was very helpful, service, breakfast, ski-lockers to mention something. They also have waffles in the breakfast! It’s also good bars and restaurants nearby. I would go back any time!
