This was a wonderful hotel on the West Highland Way. You summon ( hourly) a boat to come and pick you up from the other side of the loch. Rooms were great as was the food. The front of house team were really good in the bar restaurant 👏 A packed lunch was available for the trail.

A mixed bag!! We were walking the West Highland Way and needed sleep!! The food in the restaurant was excellent. The bar come pub attached was very basic and very noisy, duke box and a party atmosphere. The two are just incompatible. We stayed in room 18, this is directly above the pub bar, the noise was so bad we had to complain at 10pm, because you would never get to sleep. Finally they managed to close it all down about 1030pm, so that was a relief, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The water taxi from the east shore is expensive £24 return for 2 mins in the water!! Lovely views, they just don’t make use of it, with some careful thinking and redesigning this could be an oasis. By the way we spoke to other guests at breakfast who all said the same re the noise and ferry cost.

Great stop on the West Highland Way! If you’re doing the planning for the WHW then plan in a stop here. They’ve got two small pods and a large bothy on site for walkers, we stayed in the large one for the night (2 bunk beds). It was clean, comfortable and warm. The staff are brilliant and friendly, the food at the hotel was really nice and great value. On top of all this.. you get a boat ride across Loch Lomond at the end of your day walking which is a lovely end to the day and a boat ride back in the morning to start! Perfect!

Nice stop off on the west highland way, meaning we stopped a bit earlier and had to get the ardlui ferry across, which made it more exciting! Looks like a typical old fashioned hotel, with funny stuffed animals all over. But the manager is lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful with her advice on local walking tips. Great food in the restaurant, the hake was delicious!

Views Are Out Of This World, Service Isn’t the best. Mentioned the cobwebs that are covered in the house and the reply I get was “It’s that time of year”. Dust / Mould Under Bed. Cold Hot Tub For First 2 Days Wouldn’t Go Back. Not Even An Apology was given for such a dirty place. Quite clearly don’t clean it as I’ve seen many more reviews on about the cleanliness. If it wasn’t for the views, this would be a 1 star rating.

We are following the 1852 travel journal of Blanche Saltmarshe who stayed in this former hunting lodge when it had just been converted to a hotel. We stayed in the Shires Suite with the brass bath and the room and bed were so comfortable and spacious, the view just amazing. Small caravan and Chalet Park next door at the head of the Loch gave access down to the little beach and to sit there with a glass of wine or picnic is just so magical and peaceful. The food and staff at the hotel were just great. Highly recommended.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, right at the loch with forest and green hills all around. You reach it easy from the West Highland track with a short ferry ride over the loch. The rooms are nice, cosy and the bathrooms brand new refurbished. We had dinner there and the food was nice too - and plenty. But what was really outstanding, was the staff. All of them - from the receptionist, to the waiters to the hotel manager, all super friendly, super helpful and caring. We had an accident along the way and the staff took super care of us, from first aid to a drive to the doctor in the next village. We felt really well looked after, people really going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and safe. We can only recommend this great place to stay. Thanks a lot to the fantastic staff at the Ardlui hotel.

We arrived o; a boat and stayed in the Marina, eat dinner at the hotel. Food was excellent, service was excellent, found the staff to be very friendly and attentive. The resort is in very good condition and a little spot of heaven at the top of loch lomond

Had the 5 bean chilli and it was delicious, tastiest chilli I have had in ages. My husband had the beef chilli and said it was also really good. Dale was really friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful.Really glad we stopped for something to eat and we will definitely be back . 10 out of 10
