Appleby Manor Hotel & Garden Spa

Great Hotel. We were in Room 30 which had a double aspect and two doors onto the shared terrace. I would highly recommend this room! The food was excellent, my Bistro Rump was cooked to my liking and no gristle, lovely and plump. My OH had a burger and he said it was possibly the best he has ever had. breakfast was just as good. Everyone was friendly - it was a birthday treat to ourselves and it was a memorable stay. Thank you x

Spent 2 wonderful days at this delightful hotel with very comfortable accommodation throughout the establishment The food was superb both at breakfast and dinner Highly recommend the A la Carte service The spa facilities are first class with a beautiful hydro therapy pool and three relaxing heat rooms Salt Steam and Sauna The bedroom #22 was a little confined and close to the road I would recommend a garden suite A truly wonderfully well run establishment with friendly and helpful staff

Beautiful building, excellent, friendly and professional staff with the hotel set in stunning grounds with breathtaking scenery. Highly recommended. Delicious food and large comfortable garden room with patio to beautiful views. Luxurious spa facilities.

I enjoyed our day at the spa with afternoon tea. The food was lovely. Facilities were not bad. Unfortunately steam room wasn’t working which was a shame as we went specifically for this. The pool and hot tubs were nice. General areas of spa perhaps a little grubby and could have done with a good clean and tidy but overall a good spa. Treatment was very good and professional. The best thing….. the staff who were friendly and relaxed and brought us drinks to the hot tubs. They certainly went over and above in a really kind manner with a chilled and easy going approach which was very much appreciated by us tipsy girls. We felt as if we could ask them anything and nothing was too much bother. Yeh I would go here again. Deliciously handsome waiter for afternoon tea was very easy on the eye!

We booked an indulgent spa day for 3. We arrived at 10 am, straight to the treatment rooms for two of us, the other left in the spa. Massage was ok but facial without any interaction about skin or what we felt we needed. The spa is small and it was very busy. Not enough seats for people as zero degrees outside so you couldn’t sit there, no alternative except to be in the water or one of the rooms. Lunch at 1pm. By the time that was served and the food was ok but nothing to write home about. It wasn’t worth getting back into the pool. Changing rooms have two showers and banks of lockers situated around a small bench. Eight people trying to get changed was more like a community swimming baths than a luxury spa. Staff seemed abrupt and not particularly bothered about clients. Restaurant staff were very pleasant. Having done a few spa days we really wouldn’t recommend or return.

Me and my friend had a lovely spa afternoon and light afternoon tea which was so relaxing and the food was lovely too, such good value for money and the staff apart from one were all amazing and so welcoming . Working in customer service myself the older lady on reception was very abrupt and never even said hello when greeting us. It felt like everything was a huge task for her?! I think some extra training and a happier greeting would go along way for the business.
