Very nice place to relax. Great pool. Good breakfast. Nice room however a bit small. Location a Bitburg the beaten track.

This hotel was exactly what I was hoping it was going to be. I came here with my sisters and brother for a week of relaxation and sun and that’s exactly what we got. The staff were so lovely and really made the whole experience so much nicer. I will definitely be coming back with my partner. I have nothing bad to say everything was immaculate even though we had an earthquake, a tsunami warning and a sandstorm while we were there!

My partner and I stayed here for a long weekend (4 nights) at the beginning of May 2025 and wow! We arrived late at night, firstly welcomed with drinks and information regarding the resort by a lovely gentleman (didn’t get his name) then escorted to our room where there was some sandwiches prepared along with a complimentary bottle of wine and water (fresh bottle of water was left in our room every day). Breakfast and Dinner buffet options were great. I was worried as a fussy eater that I wouldn’t enjoy anything but there is always something for everyone with different options offered each evening. Orange juice and coffee included at breakfast, at dinner you have to pay for drinks. Pool side restaurant also serves delicious food, Gyros, pizzas, burgers, salads, all sorts! Many drink options too. When you arrive you get details to download an app, on this you can order food and drinks straight to your sun bed by the pool! On our second night I got engaged on the private beach with the sunset behind the mountains, it was just beautiful. Plenty of sun beds for everyone on the beach too. Room was lovely, had all you needed, shower towels (changed regularly), pool towel, robes, slippers, hair dryer, coffee machine, safe, mini fridge. We booked the room with a whirl pool, definitely recommend this, is a nice touch. Staff are all very welcoming and kind, made us feel very comfortable. They also have a games room where you can play pool, table tennis, table football and lots of board games too! Overall definitely worth the visit if you are looking for a relaxing break.

Good ..but not really a 5 stars. Restaurant near the pool to be avoided, very expensive for nothing interresting proposed. Rooms are nice but you can not really enjoy the loggias. Crew is smiling and helpfull but can be a little bit "instrusive" sometimes.

Small quiet with attention to detail, Cretan kitchen at its best presented every day, nice beach and really friendly and kind people that catered to our every need. Sustainable sources and eco friendly approach. Best spa experience we had in a decade

Stayed here for 5 nights and can honestly say it's the perfect place to come and relax. Our room was kept clean and serviced to a high standard daily with an amazing view of the sea and mountains. Bed was really comfortable and the shower was amazing. Food was cooked to perfection with plenty of choice. All the staff were really friendly and courteous, especially Marianana (pool bar), Demitris (main bar) and Eva (reception). Thank you for making our 40th wedding anniversary so special.

Absolutely unbelievable. We loved every minute of our stay. The hotel, facilities, room, drinks and food are stunning. All the staff are super friendly and could not do more for you. Could not fault it! We loved our short break and will be back!

Brilliant hotel and wonderful service. The beach, spa and gym facilities are great and all are located conveniently close to each other. The food is delicious and there were new options each evening. Will definitely be looking at returning soon.

My partner and I (both 31) are very sadly nearing the end of our 10 night stay at La Mer and I’d love to share some of our experience here as I could not recommend the hotel enough. From arrival, the staff (everyone) have been extremely friendly and keen to provide a 5* service. An extra special mention for Lampros (service / restaurant manager we think) for his constant eager attitude and lovely, friendly demeanour. He couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay, and it seems he has the same attitude for all the guests -he is a huge asset to the hotel. Both Nektarios (working in the restaurant and pool bar) and Dimitris (working in the pool bar) have also been extra friendly and great to chat to with brilliant English. The hotel is extremely quiet and peaceful - even in the evenings only a small number of people sit around the pool bar area. Not many make use of the lovely ‘playroom’ with table tennis , snooker and board games available free of charge - perhaps this could be promoted a bit more. We are here half board and both breakfast and dinner, Cretan style, are of great quality & selection. Similarly the cocktail offering and lunch menu from the poolside restaurant are yummy and good value for the quality. I agree with the comments on the bed being a good size and comfortable, the shower excellent. The room overall, a little small and more space for clothes would be beneficial, particularly for those on longer trips like ourselves. However the cleanliness and general upkeep cannot be faulted. The hot tub which is part of the garden area of the room we selected is a personal highlight for my partner who insists we are now buying one (!). The stunning aesthetic of the whole hotel a personal highlight for me - the view over the pool watching the sunset looks too good to be true. We must call out the cat family that have made a home in the plants outside the rooms on the 1st floor nearest the restaurant - a gorgeous bunch of 5 kittens + their mum & dad being extremely well fed by all the guests (and sometimes staff!) although we are worried where they will go when the hotel closes at the end of the season as the hotel is situated just off of a main road with only other hotels nearby and no locals/ village etc. We don’t usually return to hotels as we like to explore new ones but on this occasion - we would both love to come back. Well done La Mer team!

La Mer is a gem in Crete. It is a great place for couples to totally recharge and relax. Food is excellent. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. A particular thanks to Lampros who has been so welcoming and friendly - a true asset to the hotel. There is so much choice at breakfast. The fresh orange juice is amazing and you can get omelettes made to your taste. I also recommend going half board because the food at dinner is incredible. The octopus stew was a highlight. The pool is lovely and it was easy enough to get a space around it. It has an indoor and outdoor gym as well. The indoor pool in the spa is amazing too. It is lovely to watch the sunset in the evening from the beach in the hotel! I totally recommend going to Lake Kournas which is a 10 minute drive from the hotel. Also recommend going to Rethymno and Chania by either car, or by the local bus service. The bus stop is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

What a paradise of a hotel. From the minute we arrived the courtesy kindness and full attention from every member of staff was amazing, all they wanted was to make our stay as perfect as possible Which it absolutely was. It is a hotel I'd say for couples predominantly but we were a couple with our son who has special needs and all the staff especially Nikos and Marianna who works in the Beach Bar, Uxue and Penelope were so lovely to us 😊. The rooms are beautifully set out, the shower was superb so many settings and huge. the hotel was so clean and tidy everywhere the outside floors and rooms are cleaned daily. The pool and beach is stunning especially in the evening at sunset & on Saturdays there is music at the pool bar till 11pm which we enjoyed not overly loud just right. We had half board so breakfast and evening meals included .. The food is amazing....you will 100% find something you like, the breakfast was fantastic... the lady who makes the omelettes etc to your specifications was lovely, we are tea drinkers and requested bigger cups in no time we had our own tea pots and cups every morning set up so no need to ask .. they had cereals bread rolls cheeses, meats, pastries all kinds of fruits and dinner was the same such an amazing choice of food my partner is the foodie and she took great pleasure in sampling all the traditional Greek dishes and there is such a vast selection of steak, lamb, chicken, fish, stews,pasta rice, soups all freshly made ... magnificent 😋 I had a bad toothache during my stay and Penelope found me a local dentist and arranged a visit within hours I had been seen. Thank you Penelope 👍🏼 We managed to see some of the local sights there's a lake and an amazing mountain area where the stream runs through the restaurants and bars, Rethymno which is 20 mins drive from the hotel and is beautiful. It was our best holiday ever a huge thank you to Atonis, Uxue, Nikos,Argyo, Dimitri, Marianna, Penelope and all the cleaning and cooking staff that made it so wonderfuL There is so much more to see in Crete and we rarely return to a hotel twice, but for La Mer we will make an exception..hopefully we will be back next year!

We had superb 5 star holidays. The hotel is exquisite and modern. Rooms are modern and neatly designed and decorated with a lot of amenities. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Also, the food was amazing. We had halfboard and the dinner buffet was elegant and sophisticated while maintaining variety and quality. We also had a spa session and the experience was amazing. The spa staff was very professional and welcoming. Vassilis did a very good job with my fully stressed and stiff body and Maria, the manager, was very professional and made the whole experience (from informing us to booking and after the session) smooth and pleasant.
