The hotel was amazing clean, the room was beautiful, we did not had view on the ricefields but we did go to the rooftop where we saw everything very clear. Including the ricefields. The hotel is a little bit on a side road but you are quickly in mihintale or in the old/new citie of anuradhapura.

It’s rarely that a hotel lives up to its name, even if it is somewhat imaginative. I cannot fault this hotel at all, in fact my 2 night stay turned into 4 nights just so I could sit on my 3rd floor balcony and gaze over the peaceful rice paddy at the back of the hotel, it was quite therapeutic. I would definitely recommend a balcony room on the 3rd or at least 2nd floor. My room was large and spotless, the staff beyond polite and helpful and the food basic but tasty and great value. As the name suggests, the hotel is situated literally on a rice paddy, this of course means that it’s a little more of a challenge to get to, however the hotel has bikes and scooters to rent and a Tuk Tuk can be with you in minutes, meaning the peace and quite is sublime. If you want to see the sights, which cost $35 a day collectively, simply rent a bike and cycle around at your leisure. If you’re mobile you can also drop in at a great restaurant collective a little further up the main road called Hela Bojun Hala for lunch, it’s a bit of a challenge but worth the effort.

There is a very good hotel called Hevanna Phone Right Spiel and he who provides good service there and also a good hotel that provides vehicles to go here and there at any time. If you have a need, you can book in that hotel....................

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. So the distance between hotel and any place full of people is quite big, which can be a problem. Although the service was good, the owners and coworkers in there were helpful. Breakfast and dinner was good, in „Sri Lankan” style. About the room everything was great, the view is amazing, there is provided tea and water. About the localization, the center is full of culture buildings and temples, so 4 days are more than enough to see this.

We had a fantastic stay :) Yash was a very helpful and friendly host who made sure we had a great stay. She booked a very nice and honest tuk tuk driver and we had different excursions. Pradeep is a very good chef and the food was delicious. The room had amazing views to the rice fields. The AC worked perfectly. Thank you so much 😊

Everything about this stay was great. Everybody was so kind and helpful, the woman who greeted us, Yash, was so incredibly nice. We had most of our meals here and the food was delicious. They supplied us with unlimited water, they arranged a safari in Wilpattu national park for us and a guided tour of the city at very reasonable prices. When we asked if we could tour the city without going into the UNESCO protected areas, she called another guide for us and explained everything to the guide. The view from the rooftop on the rice fields is amazing, and the rooms were nice and clean. You MUST stay here if you are visiting Anuradhapura!! Also, they were really nice to the stray animals, and even let a pregnant kitty come inside sometimes, which is a testament to how kind they were!!

We only spend one night, but we had the most amazing stay. The place itself was beautiful located between rice fields, rooms spacious and clean and had a very authentic feel to it. The woman running the place, Yash, was incredibly helpful and lovely. She booked us a tuktuk guide, Jana, who took us around the town and to all the historical sites - he had a good knowledge of the town and was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. We highly recommend Heaven Upon Rice Field.

Definitely recommend this guest house! The staff was absolutely lovely. We even got an upgrade for the room. The view from our room was amazing. They where flexible in regards to the timing of our dinner (and the food was also really nice which was a great bonus). So all together we really enjoyed our stay!
