Beautiful, historic main building set in manicured grounds. Welcome was warm, and buggy ride to villa passed through rice fields, gardens and forest. Villas are huge, with sitting room as well as large bedrooms and bathrooms all both very modern and traditional blended. Plunge pool offered a great relief from the heat. Restaurant was exceptional, every meal delightful...both traditional and more European-inspired items. Chef was deligthful...and offered tastes of experimental ice creams he'd been working on...all were great. There are a few activities available--horseback riding (there is one horse), kayaking on a lake, walks...but I'd say they are not really the point. The main pool is beautiful, but rather exposed and far from the villas, so i never saw anyone in it. There is a spa, but we never went.
