Hotel Riga

The Riga Hotel Antwerp is smack in the old town of Antwerp, just a few steps away from restaurants and bars. The hotel is linked to a restaurant. If the hotel desk is not staffed (which happens quite a lot), you are helped in the restaurant side. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel only has some 12 rooms. Some of them are in the back house, with a view or access to the court yard. In general this makes these rooms very quiet, unless other guests are noisy when coming home. The hotel room itself was absolutely clean, spacious, and modern. Internet worked very well. Comfortable bed. My room had an open layout between room and bathroom, with a bath tub that stood in the bed room. Cool feature. Works best for couples or for just one traveler. Parking is most likely difficult (did not see a garage nearby), so it might be best to use public transit or a cab to travel to the hotel. From the station, you can take a tram to the vicinity of the hotel. Keep that in mind if you have a lot of luggage.

Didn’t stay at the hotel but dropped into the restaurant when passing by. They were happy to fit us in but we had to wait over an hour for food. When it finally arrived the quality of the food was very poor and for pasta, very expensive. There are lots of Italian restaurants around the centre of Antwerp, I’d recommend avoiding this one and going elsewhere.

Excellent hotel. Michael and his team were amazing - friendly, helpful, professional and efficient. The hotel was clean and the rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Given the size of the hotel, there was a very personal touch. We checked in at very short notice and were afforded amazing flexibility and service, Breakfast was lovely too! I can definitely recommend this hotel for many reasons - including the central location
