Terrible experience. Upon arrival after a 12 hour flight from California, getting in at 9:30pm (to the hotel as I shared with them a week prior) I leaned that the hotel had given away my room to someone else. I have stayed here before and enjoyed it, but this time the manager seemed to selfishly determine that even though I made my reservation months in advance (and at a good rate) that it was a big weekend—-Cannes Film Festival—-and the hotel could make more than double. The manager, Natalie, was not at the hotel when I arrived, but the front desk attendant, Agate, was amazing in calling almost 20 hotels in the area to help us find a room. Yes, 20 hotels bc they were all booked up for Cannes and F1. We were planning to sleep in their hotel lobby at one point bc there were no rooms to be found. Credit to Agate for all she did to find us a room at another hotel. The manager needs to give their hosts time to arrive and alert our any details and definitely not selfishly attempt to take more money and make cancellations without the guests knowledge and DEFINITELY NOT CANEL ON YOUR GUESTS THE DAY OF WHEN GUESTS ARE ON AN AIRPLANE TRAVELING TO YOUR HOTEL!!!
