The Powfoot Hotel, Annan

Lovely , friendly small hotel that was very personable from our moment of booking to us checking out. We had booked a luxury sea view room and it was more like a suite( room 10). The room was very clean as was the en-suite. It soon warmed up when we turned up the radiators.The only drawbacks were the bed mattress was saggy on one side so felt I was falling off the bed so didn’t have the best of sleep. The hot water also takes quite a while to come through the shower. This would not stop us from returning. We also had dinner and breakfast. There was plenty of choice for my husband but as a vegetarian I only had a couple of choices. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Nicole recommended a couple of nice local gin’s to have after our meal. I would highly recommend this hotel if in the area.

A charming small country hotel in an idyllic location. The hotel is well furbished with ample seating areas. It has a bar and lounge area, clean and well presented. The staff are welcoming and friendly , as well as helpful. The restaurant is a hidden gem. A good range of dishes, well cooked and presented, and tasting fabulous. Breakfast is also well presented. The bedrooms are well furnished with a seating area too. Ample parking. Value for money and well worth a visit.

Well, I Travel all over the place but always smile when I walk into The Powfoot. You know what you’re getting. Friendly, wonderful staff, good food and service. No matter who you are the service is 100% Away from home? It’s like a second home Thank you everyone. Again Mandy

Excellent stay at the Powfoot Hotel. The rooms are cosy and comfortable with everything provided. I have stayed in many hotels and can honestly say the beds at the Powfoot are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Friends joined me for a meal one evening in the restaurant, only one word needed to describe the experience, superb. I highly recommend this hotel.

We have family who live locally and we often visit the Powfoot Hotel for a meal when over this way. We've been as a small group and for a big family gathering and every time it's been smashing. The food is delicious - really thoughtfully put together and using local produce - there's something for everyone. The view across the Solway is great and the staff are so friendly and kind. We will keep coming back again and again.

Had an overnight stay here with my mother and father in law we had been before a while ago. This time we were allocated rooms in the rear courtyard not the hotel itself there were cobwebs and spiders around in the room which was very disappointing bathroom was a little tired toilet seat was chipped and shower was low on power no wifi connection and no 4g reception. Had some drinks in afternoon very nice overlooking the bay the staff were very keen to keep you seated and not to order at the bar which is ok but they’re not always around. Evening food in their restaurant was nice we all enjoyed but it was not as good as our last visit which at the time was a tapas menu which we all remember being stunning. Overall a little disappointed with powfoot on this visit not sure if this was because we were in the court yard and out of the way of the hotel. Breakfast was nice just missing some beans on the full Scottish as was a little dry the lady waiting on the tables was very helpful with the gluten free options.
