Not only was the room exceedingly noisy from the highway traffic, but the in-room air conditioning unit sporadically rattled throughout the night. Worst of all, between a slowly draining bathtub/shower that yielded filthy ankles and feet every day… and the lack of good sleep during the entire stay, I assure you, the recent extended stay with the Townplace Suites Marriott was, without exception, the worst hotel experience my wife and I have ever experienced, irrespective of ANY hotel brand. The eggs at breakfast were cooked to a point that they were presented as “bricks” of eggs. On two occasions, the waffle batter was mixed incorrectly. In fact, it was bad enough to see the water separated from the batter mix, which made the associated waffles inedible. Our family does not eat beef or pork… for health reasons, not for religious reasons. Yet, there was only bacon, bacon, and bacon provided as breakfast meats. One our third day of our week-long stay at the hotel, as I went downstairs to obtain coffee for my wife and me, I was shocked to see a man sleeping on the landing of the stairs between the third and fourth floors. I was exceedingly glad that I was the one who went to go get the coffee… and not my wife. I could share additional specifics. However, if the aforementioned items are not clear indications that the particular Marriott is not up to par, additional specifics won’t help make the point any clearer.

We stayed here for the final night of a quick visit to Ann Arbor, having spent the bulk of our trip at the slightly nicer Even Hotel located just down the street. This hotel is likewise located right next to I-94. To our pleasant surprise, when we got to the hotel we learned that we were being upgraded to a two-bedroom suite located at one end of the fourth floor (the hotel's top floor). The room wasn't quite ready when we tried to check-in a bit early, so we left our bags and headed out to lunch. We received a text that the room was ready soon after, so we headed back after lunch to check-in. TownePlace Suites are a short-stay concept where the rooms have a small kitchen, a larger refrigerator, and a dining table with chairs. The two-bedroom suite that we were upgraded into was very, very spacious! The bathroom was fine, although the sink's counter space was limited, but there were sufficient towel hooks, which we didn't have the benefit of in a Frederick, MD TownPlace Suites a while back. Our flight home was early the next morning, so we did not partake of the free breakfast at the hotel available to all guests. Our room (Room 431) was located about as close as could be to I-94, a busy interstate highway with a speed limit of 70 mph. Unfortunately, that made the noise of passing vehicles inescapable, and they could sometimes even be heard over the sound of the white noise program on our I-Pad that we use to drown out outside noises while sleeping at a hotel. If you can, we would recommend asking for a room located further away from the highway so that the noise would be less or non-existent. As noted, we were staying here only one night and had the benefit of an upgrade to a suite with two separate bedrooms, so we didn't try to move our location.

This would have gotten a 5 but at around 11pm the person next to us must have put on their AC and wholly moly it sounded like a train …. Luckily they only ran it for a half hour - but I couldn’t imagine that running all night - otherwise it was everything a room should be - and surprisingly the breakfast in the AM was pretty good

*CAUTION* staying at this hotel. I am a seasoned traveler and am titanium elite status so when I say this I know what I’m talking about. This is the sneakiest ownership I have come across in 10 years of travel. I booked my room rate at $179 for 3 nights and this hotel charged me one night at $999.00 and will not remove it. This is so sad! I will challenge and dispute this amount charged to me. Any response given by the hotel management after this review to justify their actions is insufficient as I can promise no one in their right mind would pay $999 for one night at a Townseplace. Marriott loses this battle as I will be switching hotel brands due to this shady style of business practice. Truly unbelievable! Please watch your bill closely when you leave.

What an amazing property, Front Desk Staff were very cordial, the room was extremely well appointed, full kitchen...beds were comfortable...the on site breakfast had lots of choices and was well laid out. Additionally, the cost for the room was very respectable....would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Very well equipped room with kitchen (dishwasher, cook top, fridge, microwave), the sleeping area was a bit tight but ok. Breakfast was really good and many of the employees were very welcoming. Parking lot a bit tight for my 1500 truck, be mindful where you park if you have a larger vehicle. Overall a nice stay and quite reasonable. They accomodated my request for an early check in too!

Hotel was fantastic, service even better…we were there for a hockey tournament and Willie set out breakfast early because he had seen there were hockey players staying and knew they had to be up early for games. Thanks Willie very much appreciated. Sarah was also fantastic at the front desk, she made sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend this hotel we will for sure be back!

I tried to book this hotel back in August through AAA Midatlantic. Thanks to a glitch in the booking system, I was booked for the wrong dates (long story). I was past the cancellation window, but asked AAA Midatlantic to work with this hotel on a refund. AAA Midatlantic made several attempts to contact this hotel, and they did not return their calls. I also tried but the manager did not return my calls. Finally about 6 weeks later AAA Midatlantic heard from the hotel that they were not refunding the deposit. Marriott makes huge profits every year, and you would think that they would put the customer. Be wary if you book with this hotel, and also be wary of using AAAMidatlantic's website. They appeared to have fixed the glitch, but double and triple check your dates before booking.
