We recently returned from a fantastic stay at Mitsi Cretan Village with our 3-year-old toddler, and overall, we had a truly lovely family holiday. The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly its staff and service, which genuinely felt like a proper 5-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the team was incredibly attentive and hospitable. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they consistently went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The layout of the hotel is also excellent, with easy access to the beautiful beach and the various pools. As a family hotel, you should expect children and a lively atmosphere, which suited us perfectly. We wouldn't necessarily recommend this resort for couples or friends seeking a quieter getaway. We would also recommend requesting a room in the quieter parts of the hotel. We were initially allocated a room above the main bar, which was quite noisy. The best rooms are likely located on either side of the complex. However, it's worth noting that regardless of your room location, there will likely be some level of activity going on until at least 10 pm. Our little one absolutely loved the kids' areas, especially the fantastic pools. The kids' corner was also very welcoming, and the activities they had planned looked very interesting, with the children seeming thoroughly engaged. There were also plenty of sunbeds and towels available throughout the day, which was a definite plus. And a special mention for the amazing crepe corner - a real treat! The rooms were very comfortable, impeccably cleaned daily, and the quality of the bedding and mattress was excellent, ensuring a good night's sleep. In our opinion, Mitsi Cretan Village offers four-star facilities with truly five-star service. However, while we had a wonderful time, the food was a bit of a mixed bag for us. It was generally ok, but we would have appreciated more healthy options, such as more Greek grills, sweet potato, and steamed vegetables. The buffet felt quite German-oriented, and perhaps we are a bit spoiled at home, as we found the offering somewhat underwhelming. Specifically regarding drinks, we were surprised not to find fresh juice, especially in Greece where fresh orange juice is so readily available. A juice bar or more healthy drink options like infused waters or iced tea would have been a welcome addition. The cocktails were delicious, though made with less familiar brands, and the wine selection was limited to one option each for red, white, and rosé. The food at the two a la carte restaurants was also just okay, without being particularly exciting, and the desserts there were a little unusual. On the other hand, the desserts at the buffet were interesting, and the choux pastries were delicious! While we had a wonderful time and the exceptional staff and service were the highlight of our trip, we're not entirely sure if we would return, primarily due to the food. For a
