Amazing building with very friendly and helpful hosts, Sonja & Emanuele. Our room was incredible and breakfast was delicious. Great picnic too for our day’s walking. I left a pair of earrings and Emanuele brought them to Otranto for me, exceptional service!

Our hosts welcomed us from the moment of our arrival. Very personal care and attention to detail. Really enjoyed the food and service. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The fish was fabulous but expensive. Just need to watch the quantity that you order.

This old palazzo was converted into a charming b&b with beautiful rooms, so well equipped. Emanuel and Sonia are wonderful hosts, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast, home made, was rich and very different from coffee and croissant you get in other places. The newly opened restaurant, Cantina offers a very high quality dinner (though quite pricy) with local specialties and very good local wine. Stay at least 2 nights to feel the place.

After 20 years of time and money - the next (and possibly last ?) phase of the Palazzo Mellacqua project, the new restaurant, is now open ! We had the privilege of having a 'foretaste' (is that the correct gastronomic equivalent of a theatrical 'preview' ?) some days before the official inauguration, Florentine steaks and all, later in the month .... The Milanese restaurant opening consultant still has a few more weeks of training the staff in culinary excellence to go before he heads up north again ever closer to his dream of hosting a boat in Porto Venere ..... .... but I digress. Convenient town centre location for a one night InnTravel stay. Great setup with large rooms at various stepped levels around a central courtyard. Comfortable bed, good shower/wifi/breakfast/minibar .... If you want a beer you can open your minibar or pay a lot more for sitting by reception and getting salty things thrown in. Don't get your beer from reception if you don't want salty bits ;-) If you have trouble with steps make sure you reserve a (the) room at reception level.

The little town of Castiglione does not offer much for tourists but, from the effusive welcome and free drink on arrival to the owners waving us goodbye as our taxi drove away, we loved this hotel. We spent one night here on our walking holiday and had delicious food cooked by Sonia, very comfortable rooms and charming hosts. We wish them every success with their beautifully restored new restaurant.

Stayed here for a night on a walking holiday. Great welcome from Sonia and Emanuele who made us feel very much at home. Comfortable rooms and delicious fresh seafood served for dinner (restaurant opening next month). Altogether highly recommended.

Wonderful place to stay, the hosts could not have been more welcoming. They prepared and served a three course meal for 12 people just given 24 hours notice. The rooms were the best we stayed in during our walking holiday in Puglia all set in a fabulous and interesting historic building.

Stayed for one night as part of a walking holiday. The hosts were incredible. They cooked an amazing 4 course meal for 12 with only 24 hours notice. Nothing was too much trouble for Sonia and Emanuele. The rooms were huge with vaulted ceilings all set round a courtyard where our meal was served. Each room has its own colour rather than a number, ours was the yellow room. I can't express how hard this couple work to make their guests have a good experience. Sonia said that her work is her passion and it shows..We met their young daughter and their cat.

Very friendly and welcoming owners of this hotel, made us feel welcome on our walking holiday's one night stay in their place. Our room was nicely cool on a very hot day and specious, with a shower and, also, facility next to your room, where you could hang to dry your washings, if you need it. Dinner was great as well and "like a mama's" limoncello absolutely amazing.
