I had a disappointing experience with the customer service at this hotel. One of the front desk staff members (a young lady) was particularly rude, especially towards Asian guests. It gave the impression that the hotel has a discriminatory attitude, as it seemed that Asian customers were consistently assigned to lower floors.
We booked a Superior room for three nights, not a standard type, but upon check-in, we were given a room that was significantly smaller than expected, with a window facing an exhaust pipe and the roof of the adjacent building. After raising a complaint, the staff eventually moved us to a better room. However, it appeared that the room had been previously occupied as there was still a welcome card addressed to someone else, suggesting that the original booking may have been canceled. This new room was slightly larger and offered a city view. (In fact, our confirmed booking was for a Superior room with a city view.)
Given that NH Group is a reputable hotel chain, I am surprised by the lack of proper training at the front desk, particularly regarding respectful and unbiased service.
On a positive note, the breakfast experience was exceptional. The food and fruit were very fresh, and the chef, as well as the waitstaff, were friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable and happy in the restaurant.
