Regency Palace Amman anmeldelser

The Regency Palace Hotel is one of the older iconic hotels of Amman. It does show its age in many ways but I still highly recommend it because it has many things going for it: Excellent food, whether in the restaurants or the room service - both oriental and western options. Beautiful lobby area with a nice bar and cafe that includes an outdoor area where you can enjoy an authentic Shisha. That became my favorite place to hang-out. The gym on the 19th floor is amazing. With those views, I could stay forever on the treadmill - especially when it starts getting dark outside. They have lots of excellent equipment and it never got crowded during my stay. There is also a pool but I didn't try it. Then there is Trader Vic's restaurant inside the hotel which actually deserves a separate review. I tried many dishes and cocktails during my stay and loved them all. Now to the negatives: Some of the furniture, carpets and fixtures have seen better days but they are nevertheless well maintained and clean. I was in an older room where these details are more pronounced but everything worked as it should. I understand that some floors have been updated to a newer standard. What it comes down to in the end is value for money. I found the price to be lower at the Regency compared to the many chain type hotels in the city. They tend to be newer but a lot more expensive. The food was top notch and the staff always friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the size of my room and the amazing gym and would definitely book it again when I come back.
