A truly beautiful pub hotel. Great friendly team, beautiful rooms, good food and real fire. Off road parking. Nothing to complain about at all. We will be back.

Spent a lovely evening eating at this pub. The food was delicious and the service from Jorge and Katie was excellent - welcoming and friendly. We have been many times over the years and this time really felt as though some of the old buzz and atmosphere was back. Will definitely be back again soon.

We had lunch after a very wet walk yesterday. Lunch was delicious. The venue is well presented and cosy in the bar area. Service was excellent. To top it off, my friend had a damaged knee and couldn’t walk back to Coniston. We were kindly driven back to Coniston by the Manager of the property. 5 stars*****. Thank you so much! We will be back. Good luck with the Inn as you develop the menu. Absolutely no faults. Just amazing!

Stayed in little Langdale and went for some drinks one night only to be met with the owners young children running around the bar area at gone 9:00pm. Went a few days later with the rest of the family for lunch sat inside with our dogs as the food came another dig walked into the pub our dogs wooffed for a few seconds before we calmed them down and they settled quietly only for the lady behind the bar to ask us to go outside because of the noise the dogs made. I refused the dogs were quiet and settled and we had just been served our food. Massive overreaction on the staffs part. So it looks like kids running free is acceptable but any noise from other sources is not. The beer is very expensive £1 dearer than in Great Langdale. All in all not a very welcoming Pub.

We went to to have a walk down to the Cathedral Cave and Slater's Bridge, then we stopped by this lovely pub in the village of Little Langdale. It has a good selection of local brews. It was very busy, but we found a vacant outdoor set and had some food and drinks. My wife said she had the best burger she ever had - it was venison. Parking is for customers only at the time of visit. You cannot park there, have a drink or whatever, then go off for a long walk. I'm sure the rooms are nice, but if you're not staying there, it's a very nice pub to visit.

Me and my wife visited after a recommendation from a friend and we were not dissapointed. Beautiful little inn with beautiful views.We arrived and were welcomed by George & katy they made us feel so comfortable the whole time we were there. ive seen a few negative reviews on here about them but I have nothing but good things to say. Room really nice. Food was amazing and just very friendly feel. I will definitely be staying again this year I recommend to anyone.

We have been coming here for some time. Unfortunately the place is now very expensive and a has a different feel. As the saying goes different strokes for different folk. Regrettably going forward we will not be stopping here. A shame as it is in a lovely location.

After returning from a year ago, where we were looked after suberbly by Lee, Julie and the team, unfortunately it seems to have lost its customer focus and attention to detail. The two young staff we met on arrival this time lacked warmth and the young man seemed standoffish. Julie was great and did her best to maintain standards even though it was clear the inn was short staffed at times. There was only one ale on out of four hand pumps; fires were unlit, and little touches that made the place so welcoming last year were missing. However, the food was very good and our room was nice, although the radiator thermostat was broken and it was uncomfortably hot without the window fully open. Sadly, not the welcoming and wonderful place it was a year ago but still a great location for walks on your doorstep.

Having been loyal customers for many years my husband and I were terribly disappointed this time when we stayed at three shires. If it hadn't been for Julie, an original member of staff with the old owners, we would have turned back home. George behind the bar seemed too "busy" to welcome any customers. The cask ales were down to one which my husband had to take back because it was off! The new owners have part redecorated the bar and dining room, not for the better. The atmosphere with the new staff seemed more corporate and less friendly... not the place we thought we knew... we won't be back!
