Sapphire Beach Resort

Great place to stay overall. The condo itself was really nice one bedroom with full kitchen. Its pretty, well designed and has everything you need. Only basic salt and pepper for cooking and some garlic salt though so bring spices in your checked luggage if you have favorites. Do your homework on grocery stores on the island before you arrive at the condo so you feel well supplied when you arrive! The pools are really nice but felt like there could have been more deck chairs. The beach area is soooooo beautiful and well cared for, the grounds were so beautiful! Landscaping crew always hard at work! Really enjoyed lounging and reading at the beach, hot days but cool breezes forever. Swam in the area by the dock, 4-5 ft deep and a seaweedish bottom so if that bothers you bring some water shoes. We brought fishing poles and husband fished off the dock, with the help of the outstanding fisherman WIFI to help him out! The staff were nice, helpful and always available. Check out the lil grocery down the street if you get a craving for an ice cream, snacks or any basics, Bonitos! Took a bicycle there! Restaurant at Sapphire was decent, nice people there as well. Did not enjoy the pool bar, prob just us though. Will miss sitting on the beach there as well as our lovely patio at the condo. And Wifi!! San Pedro is fun but being a bit far away is the best for peace and tranquility.

Had a wonderful 1 week stay. The staff is all very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. From booking you a snorkeling tour to catching you bait for fishing and getting you coconuts. The rooms are very comfortable as well. The road is a bit rough and a 40 minute drive to town. However, you get used to it and after all you are trying to get away. Special shout out to WiFi and Ms. Vicky for helping me catch fish off the dock and cooking them for me. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

The Sapphire Resort is a beautiful property with great staff and a great restaurant. We rented a one-bedroom condo that was well equipped and free bottled water in a cooler. The smoke detector worked so well that we couldn’t make toast without it going off. So no cooking. There is no cable TV so internet streaming with poor access was infuriating, The beach is beautiful except that no one cleans the beach so you must walk through 10 feet of seaweed and garbage to swim or use their watercraft. I don’t know what the owners are paying HOA fees for. The pools are clean and great but the resort is just down the street from a gravel pit so from morning to night loud trucks grind by on weekdays. A noise fence would be great. Lastly, the resort is 10 miles north of San Pedro on a road so bad that a taxi takes more than 30 minutes to get to town and that taxi will cost $50 each way to get to town. A $100US to go shopping, a restaurant, Secret Beach, etc. is not much more than renting a golf cart for $75 a day! And don’t get me started on the “gringo pricing”in Supermarts! However, if you want to get away from the hustle and expense of San Pedro the Sapphire is great for long-term rentals

This is a quiet and well kept resort. It's a bit of a golf cart ride from the city, but it's worth it. If you're looking for tranquility in the form of sitting on the beach with a book or simply watching the sunset on the dock this is the place. There's a great little restaurant and bar, three pools (one of which does not allow children) and the service is awesome. We'll continue to go back to Sapphire beach each time we visit Ambergris.

Beautiful contained resort. Very nice grounds, well kept. Rooms were spacious, clean, well supplied and offered great wifi and visual media. Staff was helpful and attentive. Housekeeping was excellent. Great stay, lovely pools and beach. Property is located 10 miles from San Pedro. Road is slow and rough. There is a dedicated taxi company associated with resort. That was helpful and efficient to be picked up at airport and return to depart. Cost is $100 return trip. We enjoyed our stay at the resort. Be aware that it is a distance and large expend to travel back and forth to San Pedro. Golf carts are for rent, but the cost and effort is not likely worth it. Would recommend property to families and couples.

Wonderful north island resort. Far from San Pedro on a very bumpy road but we were looking for quiet relaxing so it was worth the drive. Great staff, so helpful and welcoming. Clean property with great security. Beautiful beach. Some additional outdoor loungers would be nice. Front desk reception (Heidi) arranged a snorkel tour with Amigos del Mar tours. Kyle and Bert were the best guides and so fun. They made our trip a worthwhile experience. Looking forward to a return to sapphire next year.
