Casa Das Lérias

Exceptional small friendly hotel a minute walk from the bridge and church. Beautifully appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are small but this is its charm as the hotel hugs the cliff side. The bed was comfortable and king size and our bathroom was beautiful and we loved the little details. Breakfast was simple honest fair which we both enjoyed, with a lovely pot of tea to wash it all down.would definitely recommend if visiting the area and we preferred Amarante to Pinhao for visiting the Douro valley. Pinhao was disappointing

Lovely hotel in an excellent location right on the doorstep of the charming small town of Amarante with its many restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and riverside walks to explore. The staff at Casa das Lerias were so welcoming and helpful throughout our 3 night family stay. The pool and garden at the rear of the hotel overlooking the river was an oasis of calm to enjoy a glass of wine in the warm sunshine. Breakfast either taken outside or in the cool of the restaurant was plentiful and tasty. This was a fantastic hotel with great people who went out of their way to make our stay so enjoyable.

We have been coming to Amarante for many years and fortunate enough to find Casa das Lerias for this years stay. This is a Clean,modern friendly hotel . The Team of staff work tirelessly to satisfy all needs ...we were aware that some staff were new to their roles and there is still some growth to be had under the supportive management . The garden pool area is a real asset and the hotel are thriving to improve and capture opportunities for guests and the wider community. The hotel is situated along the Riverside where you have the option to walk amongst the newly developed nature trails without the risk of any vehicular traffic. We had such a lovely stay that we have booked again for next year but this time for 7 nights.

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location overlooking the river. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast, taken in the cafe where they also serve delicious looking cakes, is excellent. The swimming pool is set in lovely grounds and the terrace overlooking the river is a wonderful place to enjoy a cool beer or to linger with a coffee after breakfast. Amarante itself is a lovely town with a range of restaurants and tapas style bars serving great food at incredibly low prices. It also a good base for exploring the Douro Valley and trips into Porto which can be reached in 40 minutes on the bus. Definitely better than driving! Two minor quibbles. Our room was very small, which would have been ok for a couple of nights, but got a bit cramped during a four night stay. The free public car park is directly below the hotel, but the entrance road to it is quite difficult to find and it is quite a tortuous route down to it. Once you've done it once though, it's fine. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.

I've had the chance to visit this lovely hotel with my partner for 1 night. At the time, we had no 1 bed room available so we got a 2-bed room (twin). It was great... we found no problem with it. The hotel is beautiful and elegant, very well decorated. The staff is helpful and kind. The location is fantastic, you will be in the city centre, close to everything. At the same time, the back of the hotel is super quiet and relaxing. They have a small pool and a big garden where you can relax. The breakfast was good, fruit, different bread, cereals, a hot buffet... I believe it matches the price of the night. Keep in mind the breakfast room isn't huge, so it can get crowded. You have a car parking area at the back of the hotel with private access to the garden. The way to the parking lot can be tricky but you will handle it. The rooms were great and beautifully designed. Very comfortable bed, no noise and the wc is not so private but you have a curtain to get it better. I'm really happy with this stay and I will return. Hope the internet issues get fixed buy that time. Great experience, I recommend it.

We stayed for 2 nights at Casa das Lerias, great location in this lovely town. Staff very friendly, breakfast was lovely, a lot of choice. We had a lovley river view room, the bathroom and all the fittings are very high end. We spent an afternoon at the pool to relax. Before our fabulous tour of Douro, with Joao Riberio owner of Inside Experience, which is a must if staying in this region.
