Pestana Blue Alvor Beach - All Inclusive Hotel

Stayed here in October 2024 with my wife as part of my 60th birthday treat. It's a very nice resort with plenty of entertainment and facilities to use. It was an all-inclusive stay, so we were never bored with the food or drink due to the many options available to us. The hotel facilities were exceptional, as, too, were the staff. There are lovely restaurants nearby should you want to get out and about and experience the local cuisine. And there are many trips you can indulge in to which it would recommend the trip to the mountain region an absolute must in my opinion. A bid thank you to all the staff there for making our stay a memorable one for all the right reasons.

Lovely hotel with good and bad. Overall we had a lovely stay at this hotel. The hotel is clean, there is lots of staff and they were all very friendly. I will summarise the main points of our holiday. Food - this was ok, If you are a fussy eater or don't like seafood then this is not the place for you. There wasn't much choice or variety and not much choice for children, but that being said I am a slightly fussy eater. 2 members of my family loved the food and tried lots of different things so this could be down to personal choice. Animation team - As we had a 5 year old with us the entertainment is important and it was amazing at this hotel. Miguel in particular was fantastic, our son loved him and he always made us feel welcome and stopped for a chat so I would like to extend a huge thank you to him for helping to make our holiday so enjoyabe .Also Theresa and Fabio were great. I hope the animation team get the recognition they deserve as they work extremely hard. Rooms- We stayed in a superior family room with sea view and it was wonderful. Very clean, spacious and modern. We recieved housekeeping every day the room was cleaned and fresh towels every day. Check in and out - both of these were smooth. At Check in we were greeted with drinks, orange juice or a glass of bubbly. Our room wasn't ready but we're were free to enjoy the all inclusive benefits while we waited. We recieved a phone call when our room was ready. We checked out very early before breakfast service and we were given a continental breakfast choice which was great before our early flight. Themed restaurants- these were the biggest disappointment for us. The Italian restaurant was of extremely poor quality and was not worth the reservation. At the surf and turf restaurant I was unfortunately served raw chicken, I am currently trying to find an email for the hotel to discuss this with them as I don't like to cause a fuss during my holiday. Bar Service - this was very poor. Most of the time there was just one bartender serving on the bar which meant you often had to wait in excess of 20 minutes to be served. This needs looking at and the hotel needs to make sure there is more bar staff on duty. Overall we had a wonderful holiday and will be returning.

Just not what I would expect from a 'five star' hotel, first day here with Tui, felt scammed. The good thing: room is spacious and newly decorated, balcony has sea and pool view, five min walk from beach, bar available all day. The bad: just overall very old facility and lacks maintenance. No bathrobes in the room, no plug for bathtub, had to ask reception to get a plug, then it gets stuck bcuz the knob thing is broken. No lifeguard for any pool, all three pools are cold, the child pool is pathetic, and tucked away behind the main building away from deckchairs, away from bar. No seating area at all for parents. The food... Fish and chicken are super dry, mixed up labels for tuna and seabass. Limited selection overall. Just not a five star hotel, nowhere near, not even four star. Now waiting for maintenance guy to come get the bath plug out, so we can take shower! Borderline pissed and not a great first day I'm afraid. Won't be coming back here again. :(

This hotel is by far the cleanest I’ve been to, I’m super fussy, the food fabulous and even my teenage daughter is happy, I can’t wait to come back, I was in room 310 beautiful view, quiet the entertainment in the evening was fab, the staff were exceptional friendly, nothing negative to say, from the time we arrived at reception I have felt relaxed and happy

Nice hotel situated about 15 walk from Alvor centre. We booked a room with sea views, the room was clean and well maintained, nice views from the balcony. Food was a bit samey but allways something to eat, very busy at certain times. The pool bar is a queue system, first time I have seen this but it worked well. The lobby bar was a random system to get served,if you are a tipper you have a better chance of getting served. The mini bar in the room consists of a bottle of water and two small cartons of juice, any additional items are charged. The house keeping was hit and miss. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Pools. The adult only pool is great there were always bed available and there is a small self servise station for wine. Would I return NO

Location: Stunning. We didnt initially book a sea view but got given one anyway, beautiful. Beach is within walking distance in front of the hotel. Shop nearby and in the hotel Food: nice food, would be even better with more variety. Cater well for vegans/ pescatarians. Staff: the entertainment team are phenomenal, lovely people, as are the staff on reception. Rooms: spotless, however shower can be annoying to navigate at first but we eventually got the hang of it. Pool: Cold, but an advantage on a hot day.
