Wyndham Residences Alvor Beach

Once called the Alvor Luna Bay when bedrooms seemed larger!!! Renamed and reshaped. Swishly refurbed as new. Now the main problem is the lack of storage in what seem smaller bedrooms despite voluminous balconies. Simply, storage is inadequate for two guests for longer than a week, maximum. Let me describe............ a small [4feet tall?] open metal wardrobe rail with five fixed point clothes hangers. Four or five open shelves beside this rail., one occupied by the rooms safe. In all other respects its fine. The staff good and plentiful and helpful. The location the best in town!

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!

Unless you have a pay on departure agreement with this hotel I would recommend avoiding this chain at all costs. I had previously booked a holiday with them, due to the pandemic they understand my decided to close and cancelled the reservation. However, they refused to issue a refund and instead offered only a credit voucher. They then subsequently sold the hotel I had booked and said I could only use the voucher in their other hotels (in a different part of the Algarve). They stated that after 12 months, if I still hadn’t used the credit note they would issue a full refund. It’s been over 2 years and I still haven’t received any refund. I’ve emailed countless times and been given the run around, asking for my bank details etc but they have never made any effort to issue refunds. They actually shared a number of client email addresses with me in a mistake and I can see from other peoples emails that they too have been left out of pocket. Very disappointing and not how business is normally done in Portugal.

O edifício é muito próximo da praia, sendo para mim uma localização excelente. A cozinha tem o equipamento essencial. A varanda é muito espaçosa, mas precisava de um estendal para a roupa da praia. Praia calma e com extenso areal.
