Travelled here on 19th February 2025 from the UK. 10hr direct flight from Heathrow. Malé airport is small and not modern so don’t expect much however a new terminal is opening this year. The sea plane transfer for this hotel was our option, it’s not straightforward to find what to do or where to go at first especially after a long night flight so don’t be afraid to ask someone. Bags checked in and off to the SunSyam World lounge to refresh and get a drink and snack before the flight. Cramped and hot in these sea planes but what do you expect, it’s certainly an experience and the best way to see the beauty of the Maldives by air as you fly to the hotel. You land close up on a small pontoon and a boat then picks you up and takes you on a small trip to the pier off the beach where you are greeted with drums and music and smiling faces. You get assigned an ambassador who takes care of you for your stay and they then check you in on the app and tell you all about your package and what is where and all the usual stuff while you sip on a refreshing cocktail and wipe your head with a cooling towel. Your bags then get taken to your room and we waited about 1hr for our room to be ready. Our room was a sea villa on the sun rise side. As sunsets around 18.00hrs at this time of year it seemed pointless to have a sunset room as we were sat at one of the bars at this time enjoying a drink and the sunset at the same time. The coral and fish are also better for snorkelling on the sunrise side! A lovey room with a huge bed and bathroom which in parts did look a little tired but you soon overlooked that when you saw the views and the pool outside. Again the decking out the back does need replacing but it didn’t take from any of the experience. What a great spot though for snorkelling and seeing black tip sharks from your lower deck, we also saw a ray and an eel. They are very private and while you see your neighbours snorkelling they would have to be very rude people to disturb your privacy so you shouldn’t worry about that. These water villas in my opinion are not child friendly so I’m shocked to see children in them. You can go and collect your free snorkel and flippers from the dive centre so to enjoy the sea. You can also book excursions from here to go and swim with whale sharks and turtles. Restaurants are thin on the ground, main one is a buffet style and the quality of food is fantastic! Freshly cooked meats and fish as well as a pasta station and some of the best noodle flavours you’ll have. Equally at breakfast you can have your eggs anyway you want and a glass of sparkling wine. All the staff are wonderful in here and take real good care of you. Just make sure you like sand as the restaurant is on the beach. Thankfully they have an adults only section too! The other restaurant is a Mediterranean one called Roma and does the most amazing Italian dishes really flavoursome and again they look after you really well. Only negative I can say is you

I enjoyed a Christmas break for 7 days Sun Siyam Iru Veli just recently with my husband and 2 year old son. Since we landed at the airport, to the lounge, seaplane and warm welcome we received the holiday was just perfect! This may sound like an exaggeration but I hard years in my eyes when we left. The resort really care about making their guests happy. Everything was carefully thought out, the gala dinner was mind-blowing - such a tremendous variety of food and delicious too. The santas arrival was so lovely. It was amazing to experience Christmas Maldivian style! The food at Aqua Orange was fantastic - it was no standard buffet - truly magnificent each time, I enjoyed going there each time to just be surprised as the new things to try! We were really taken care of! The Chefs were great and each station - serving freshly cooked food from the pan! I loved the detail that went into presenting all the food. The spa (including our therapists Wayan and Mala) was amazing - you can see the sea life swim by right under you. I was amazed at just how many (harmless) sea life you would actually see! We once saw 8 nurse sharks casually swimming by our over water bills. The beaches are stunning and the water crystal clear. It really did feel like paradise. The rooms were sooo comfortable and well designed. It’s been recently refurbished so it felt new. No complaints at all on that front. Really stunning views. We started half of our time at the beach villa and other was the over water villa. Both were amazing. Beach villa is bigger. I cannot thank the staff enough - we were really looked after and attended to. The premises is stunning and the staff are super helpful and welcoming and friendly. Fauzaan who was our main co-ordinator and guest liaison really ensured we got everything we requested and was efficient in handling our queries and booking our excursions. Thank you so much for always checking in on us and making sure we were happy. The resort itself is impeccably maintained, with lush greenery, beautifully designed pathways, and breathtaking views at every turn. The house reef near the villas is teeming with vibrant marine life, making snorkeling an absolute joy. Even our little one was captivated by the colorful fish, baby sharks (totally harmless) and gentle waves, making it a family-friendly activity we could all enjoy. Our 2-year-old had so much fun exploring the beach and splashing in the shallow, crystal-clear waters. The staff were always kind and accommodating, ensuring that even the youngest guests felt special. The kids’ club deserve a special mention. While we didn’t use the kids’ club extensively because our son is under 2 it’s clear that they’ve put thought into creating a safe, engaging space for young guests, especially with all the daily activities from card making to kite flying, which he was still welcoming to take part in as we supervised ourselves. Lovely resort, beautiful views and nice vibe. Friendly staff all around. We had a honeymoon bubble bath set up by house keeper MD Sohel, he did a great job with keeping our villa well stocked and tidy. Thanks heaps for the hospitality. Recommend Sun siyam iru veli for a relaxing escape.

Exceptional Experience! Sun Siyam Iru Veli exceeded every expectation! The warm welcome, seamless check-in, and breathtaking views set the tone for an unforgettable stay. A secluded slice of paradise with powdery white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and stunning sunsets and sunrises. The beachfront villas offered us ultimate luxury, surrounded by pure beauty. Our beach villa was a dream—spacious, elegantly designed, and featuring a private pool with direct ocean access. The bed was comfortable, and waking up to panoramic sea views was pure magic, we enjoyed the sunrise a few times which was simply bliss. Meals were a culinary delight! From fresh seafood, thanks go to Ammaday, Kumar, Shaa who all added to our wonderful experience, sorry to anyone I have forgotten but thanks go to all the teams at Roma, Grouper and Aqua, also the international delicacies like Teppanyaki (which we especially enjoyed!) Special thank you to Donnie and his wonderful colleague for the two wonderful nights we enjoyed at Teppanyaki! Thank you to Roshan the executive chef who took care of us and thanks to Faya who was so kind and friendly and oversaw the food and beverage aspect of our stay. The staff went above and beyond, making us feel like royalty. Every detail was attended to with warmth and professionalism. Personalised touches, like a surprise displays setup in our bedroom, made our stay extra special. Thank you especially to Chinti and Mizen who made sure our room was attended to frequently and was immaculate. Special thanks go to Ammu who was our dedicated Ambassador and made sure we had literally everything we needed, he was at the end of the phone and was reachable at any hour, Ammu was amazing. Snorkeling with vibrant marine life, was magical, my husband saw so many sharks, rays and super colourful fish!!. The water sports and private excursions were well-organised and thrilling. Special thanks to Ammaday and team who were private dice instructors and took care of my husband on his three dives that he did.. he enjoyed it immensely, he saw black tip sharks, napoleon fish, rays, box fish etc. it was phenomenal!!! Overall Experience - If you’re looking for the perfect Maldives escape, this resort is pure perfection. Can’t wait to return and in fact we already have flights booked!!! Would highly recommend to anyone seeking luxury, tranquility, and truly excellent customer service! My wife and I have just returned from Iru Veli. We have now visited the island for the fourth time. Each time we have visited, the staff create different ways for us to have amazing experiences and unforgettable memories. Rilwan was our ambassador and his sense of humour and imagination always made our plans turn into beautiful memories, even when the weather was determined to break our plans up. He always seemed to have a plan b. His messages every morning were very funny and also informative regarding the activities of the day. Mithu was our room attendant and he made us some extraordinary bed art. He kept our room spotless, worked around our schedule and he was always available if we needed anything additional. The staff in the restaurants and bars were always friendly and smiling and we were never left waiting too long for anything. A huge thank you to Chaw, Abhi, Uma, Kumar, Pradeep, Dilshan, Limon, Viraj and Pooja. I have very likely missed someone and apologies for that. We had some water sports trips and a huge thank you to the whole team especially, Bakoo and Anoof. Our desert islands trips will never be forgotten and we don’t know how we will ever get a better experience. Bakoo and Anoof were both very happy to go above and beyond their duties to keep us safe and happy. All of the reception and reservations staff were wonderful and always smiling too. From the welcoming arrival drumming and dancing to our sad departure from the island, we have had one of the most memorable experiences. We have already booked our return and we hope to see some of the friendliest people we have ever met again soon. Only 2 complaints that I can think of is when semi naked men & women enter the restaurant without any proper clothing. (Bikinis or vests and very small male swimsuits) I for one do not want to see bare chests and backs dripping sweat while I am sitting in a restaurant. Perhaps a minimum dress code would work. The only other thing is when people who smoke, step 1 feet from the open walled restaurant so they can still talk to their friends but they are breathing and allowing their smoke to bellow around others while they are eating. All in all, we have had another fantastic holiday with fantastic hospitality and could only highly recommended this resort.

We are just back from a one week stay in the magnificent property of Sun Siyam Iruveli 5 stars. Everything was perfect : comfort of the room with a private swimming pool, the restaurants, the beach and especially the fantastic dedicated team, with special mention to Alamin our villa attendant, Solley senior executive housekeeper, Uma and Kumar at the Grouper Grill and JJ at the Aqua restaurant, don’t forget our Ambassador Adam and the so sympathetic Bakoo at the watersports, thank you to this great team for our wonderful day, we will be back for sure Amelie & Guy

We stayed in mid Jan 2025 on our honeymoon, the hotel itself is stunning, very clean and well maintained. We stayed in a water villa for 10 nights and couldn’t recommend it enough! The main stand out is the staff everyone is friendly and accommodating, we’d like to mention some specific staff later. • The food was nice for al-inclusive although I’d recommend booking the restaurants in advanced as they get booked up very quickly. Most drinks are included in al-inclusive although there is a selection of cocktails and food choices that are chargeable. • The mini-bar in the room was restocked everyday, drink wise the only issue we found was that you can’t take drinks back to the room. Even though sparkling wine is included in the package you can’t have it in the minibar (it’s chargeable to have in the room). • As I’ve said the staff are amazing. Our housekeeping Jahidul was such a nice guy he went above and beyond putting little messages in leaves on our bed was a special touch! We spent a lot of our days around the adults only pool where Limom worked he would always make sure to ask around the sunbeds if you would like anything! Uma in grouper grill is a credit to the hotel, she was always smiling, remembered our order and genuinely a lovely individual. Dilshan in the Roma restaurant and buffet showed excellent service, suggesting wine pairings with certain meals. Aiz at the chemistry bar was great she would keep an eye out to ensure you never had an empty glass. Finally our ambassador Lena, from checkin to checkout she was amazing. Any questions she answered. She arranged all our restaurant bookings, excursions and any additional requirements we had! All these staff made our honeymoon special and we can’t thank them enough! We can’t wait to come back to this hotel!

My wife and I traveled to the Maldives to celebrate our 1st anniversary, and our stay at Sun Siyam Iru Veli was absolutely incredible. Several people made our trip truly special—our ambassador, Sharyaan, our diving instructor, Sappé, and Chaw from the Chemistry Bar. A Big Thank You to Sharyaan From the very start, Sharyaan was exceptionally polite, professional, and dedicated to making our stay comfortable. He took care of all our inclusions and bookings, ensuring our itinerary was perfectly planned. What truly impressed us was his honesty and determination—he went out of his way to secure reservations we thought were impossible, including spa sessions and excursions that were initially fully booked. Yet, somehow, he made it happen! We are Jains, so we have strict dietary preferences and restrictions, and as expected, we faced some initial challenges with the food. This happens almost everywhere we travel, but Sharyaan took the initiative to truly understand our needs. He even arranged an exclusive meeting with the Indian Chef, Nikhil, and made sure that our romantic candlelight dinner menu was completely Jain-friendly and tailored to our preferences. This level of thoughtfulness and care made our experience even more special. Sappé – The Scuba Legend! Another highlight of our trip was our first scuba diving experience, guided by the amazing Sappé. He has an incredible sense of humor, which instantly put us at ease and made us comfortable and confident in the water. One of us knew how to swim, while the other didn’t, but Sappé assured us that swimming skills wouldn’t make much of a difference—and he was right! He helped us overcome our fear of deep waters and introduced us to the breathtaking underwater world of the Maldives, filled with colorful fish, turtles, and even baby sharks. We truly fell in love with the deep blue ocean, all thanks to him! If you’re a beginner, we highly recommend the beginner scuba package, which includes: ✔ 45 minutes of diving ✔ 45 minutes of snorkeling with a dedicated guide ✔ A small, limited group for a personalized experience ✔ An exclusive boat with hospitality service, including drinks and light snacks ✔ Unlimited GoPro pictures and videos to capture every magical moment underwater It was a 5-star scuba experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Sappé! Chaw from Chemistry Bar – The Heart of Hospitality Another person who truly made our trip special was Chaw from Chemistry Bar. She was incredibly warm, polite, welcoming, and cheerful. Her excellent hospitality and genuine smile made us feel so comfortable. She went out of her way to spoil us with fantastic service and great conversations. What made our interactions even more special was how she shared her love for India, talking about how much she enjoys Indian cuisine and culture. She also told us a bit about her personal background, which made us feel even more at home. Her welcoming nature truly stood out, and we will always remem

What a gorgeous place, all staff so polite and friendly.. big shout out to our housekeeper Lashindu always went above and beyond., and our ambassador Rilwan who couldn’t do enough for you.. The food here was amazing, and the different restaurants superb…. We stayed in a water villa which was lovely, but if we were to be be 100% honest feel it needed a little TLC in places .. However this didnt spoil our time one little bit… stunning
