Premier Inn Alnwick

Third time we have now used this hotel as a base when visiting the area. Again booked the premier plus rooms for that little bit extra but it is worth it to get the mini fridge, coffee machine and quiet area of hotel etc. Room again well appointed and in our stay of two nights never heard anything from any other guests in hotel. Still think if you are paying extra for the premier plus room you still should be getting it serviced each day without asking though, plus they now dont include the unlimited wifi in the deal. Only issue with the room (203)was that the skirting board in the bathroom already had the paint all scraped off - bit strange in a hotel which isnt even 2 years old. Also why not repair something so simple? Used the restaurant on one of the nights, good food but were missing quite a number of options. Will stay again though.

We’ve stopped PI all over and really satisfied but this was a complete let down. We arrived and booked in on the screen, only to answer all the questions then to be told computer wants you to go for key at reception which completely defeated the object. Got to our room which was fine except for the dirty bath. Windows don’t open on the g/floor so fresh air is out of the question. No glasses if you want a drink, reception said they don’t supply now. Had our meal at night which was pretty bland and poorly presented, never did get my side of onion rings even though I asked. Got back to room to the noise of a fan which was constantly on, went to reception but no one about. Eventually had to throw the little breaker to stop it but that put the lights out. In the am 8.30 reported to reception who said they would sort, got back at 4.30 to a noisy fan, back to reception to meet a fab member of staff who knew exactly what I was talking about, he’d just had the same complaint from another room, he checked if any attempt was made to sort but it hadnt. The guy was on his way home but said he would fix. To his credit and our sanity he got his ladder into the ceiling space and sorted. What a fab guy! He explained there would be no air con but would return in the am if required. We were happy to get a good nights kip. All in a poor stay with poor support from reception apart from a knight in shining armour on his way home.

Great clean and tidy place food was very good also and friendly staff made welcoming. 20 min walk into the centre with some nice shops and market definitely be back we stayed to watch a show in playhouse 5 star rating highly recommended will be back soon

This is a new Premier Inn in a great location with a large car park. We visited in half term and loved the location for visiting Northumberland. Our room was clean with the usually Premier Inn layout for a family room. It was also very quiet so a good nights sleep had by all. Our only disappointment was the staff, apart from the man who ran breakfast all the other staff were clearly unhappy in their jobs! The lady at breakfast was openly huffing and puffing and complaining that the hotel was fully booked and full of families. Well it was half term and families want to enjoy a well earned break together in a happy and welcoming atmosphere. Not the usual welcome you receive in the north east. We would stay again for the location but would eat elsewhere due to the service received.

Located in a quiet location just a few minutes from the A1 and Alnwick. Warm welcome on arrival, fair to say all the staff we encountered were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The on-site restaurant has a good choice for both adult and children diners and at reasonable prices which was ideal for our evening meal. Breakfast was good, decent selection for both the continental and cooked breakfast. Would definitely return is we were in the area.

Super staff, warm welcome and a fine location for accessing the delights of Northumberland. A four night stay in the first week of October was very comfortable in an ideal room that was clean, quiet and with all the facilities in good order. Breakfast was well presented with a good choice available across continental and hot breakfast choices. A particular thank you to Lucy for making each morning such a pleasant start to the day with attention to detail and good humour. Thank you too to the chefs who each morning were both visible preparing a fresh breakfast selection and engaging too with customers and their choices. Dining options in the evening were greatly appreciated. They were perfect for our needs, though just for a couple of nights of our four night stay, it fitted well following up on particularly exhausting days of sightseeing. Specific requests around day to day house keeping were attended to very promptly and underlined a really happy vibe to show the best of Premier Inn. We are already planning for a visit next year to the area and have found the ideal base for our needs for a clean, well appointed hotel with staff adding the essential & engaging ingredient for a relaxing stay. Well done.
