Years ago in France I experienced hotels that were secondary to their restaurants. While the food here prepared by the owner , Raul, is a highlight, the hotel is absolutely charming and appointed with local artwork throughout. The small hotel has large rooms and larger, well decorated common areas. The food is unique and locally sourced, and if you sta, dine there for sure. You will never receive so much attention. Local olive oils all have a story (and may be purchased at very good prices so leave room). The pool was pristine and cooling. How could you end up in such a quaint, but upscale town ? We were on a hiking adventure, and Raul can direct you to hikes which can begin at the front door. There is an excavated Roman Villa in town that is very interesting with a built in audio tour that is first class. The older Iberian ruins were closed on the days we were there. We enjoyed strolling the village and popping into bars where we were welcome. One could stay here as a center for more trips in the olive region. It is a unique and beautiful place operated by a couple sharing those characteristics.

We loved it so much we wanted to stay. We arrived late but Raul, the owner, chef and now our new friend, not only stayed up to greet us but also prepared a wonderful three course dinner. Breakfast was AMAZING every day (three course with a different olive oil) Comfy bed and refreshing pool. From the linen to the towels everything was five star. We went for a walk to the waterfalls which was just stunning and also went to Cordoba for the day. We ate in the restaurant every night and had some brilliant dishes, all cooked especially by Raul. All the food was local and he knew exactly where everything came from (eg. Oranges off the tree outside the window) Masterchef eat your heart out. This is a truly special place and we can’t wait to return.

We arrived at La era after a long trek - Raul greeted us and made us feel at home immediately, plus helped is with info on local walks etc. He went out of his way to accommodate my dietary needs, and put a lot of thought into our meals. Breakfast was also amazing with 4 courses! Everything was fresh local and delicious plus he stocks some great local wines. We loved lying by the pool in the afternoons after exploring the area - it’s a very relaxing spot, with cabana style beds etc! The hotel and rooms are all beautifully presented with interesting decor. I wish we could have stayed longer…in fact I liked it so much that I walked off with our large forged iron room key in my pocket…luckily Raul realised before we had gone too far and we were able to return it!

This is a very nice hotel . The owner Raul was very warm, welcoming and helpful . The beds were wonderful and the views were spectacular . The food was fresh and delicious and all local and organic. This is a great place to relax . The hotel is clean and and charming .

This small hotel is superb. The host is very helpful; he tries to ensure we see everything one should see in the area. He serves the best breakfast we have had in Spain. All food is eco friendly and ecologically sourced and grown. The selection of olive oils is carefully chosen from the best in the region. The hotel is filled with old rural artifacts used by farmers and is wonderful to explore. Rooms were spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Ten out of ten for this very special host and his hospederia. Diana W.

La Era is an elegant hotel in lovely Almedinilla. My husband and I stayed for a few nights during a recent walk/hike in Andalucia. Our room provided the comforts of home and a place to rest - it was extremely clean and well appointed. The bed and pillows very comfy. Bottles of water and glasses. A view of the city below and the surrounding hills. La Era's ambience reflects a love of beauty, of family with a style of understated luxury. A peaceful environment. The food was absolutely fantastic! Simple but flavorful and very fresh, served with style, made with love. It is obvious that Raul loves to prepare food. Raul was a gracious host and made sure we had everything we needed.

Wonderful! La Era is a unique and lovely place to stay in Almedinilla, Spain. Perfect for getting away from it all, hiking and exploring the hill towns nearby. Raul is an impeccable host. He was very helpful in planning our stay and responsive to any needs. We had a lovely breakfast each morning and a delicious dinner at the hotel on the last night of our stay (by prior arrangement). I highly recommend La Era if you are looking to experience the Andalusia region.

What a wonderful B&B this is! Let me start with the whole premises, which is fantastic. It's a beautiful old house, large hallways and rooms, a nice cellar where breakfast and diner are served and brings on an amazing atmosphere! The host Raul is a very kind and generous person and a wonderful chef also! A few times a week you can join for dinner, which was a feast and a must do! Breakfast same story, lovely organic food, what more can you wish for! A very large pool, totally clean accommodation complemented our truly lovely stay at Raul! Fantastic stay at Hospederia la Era. Food was amazing, some of the best we have had in Spain (goats cheese and honey cheesecake, the best we have ever had anywhere in the world). Raul also one of the best hosts. Room was spotless. A lovey rural Spanish hotel.
