Allanton Inn

What a little gem . Tucked away from anywhere with a great outdoor space we had a lovely stay . The food was amazing with generous portions . Our room was well presented and super clean and tidy. Great local produce use in every aspect. If you dont have transport i recommend Robs Taxi as you are in a small village away from anywhere . He took care of us over our 2 day stay and was fair in price. If your looking for good food , quiet and cosy this is the place to stay .

We were staying at holiday cottages close by and wanted somewhere good, we were given this suggestion ands o booked a table. The decor inside was typically Scottish, very inviting and colourful, the room was light, gorgeous decor and felt like everything had been thought about. The young lady who served us was smiley, polite and helpful, not at all pushy like other places I’ve been to recently. We didn’t have to wait too long for our meals after ordering and the food was delicious, I love the locally sourced produce aspect of it all, it showed where everything had came from. My only tiny wee thing was that the vegetables on my chicken were somewhat cooler than the chicken and my husband was the same, it wasn’t a major thing. The desserts we had were good as well, and we came away feeling happy to have eaten here.

What a beautiful place with friendly staff who made us feel so welcome. The bedrooms were so comfortable, clean and decorated well. The garden was gorgeous. We sat outside as it was a sunny day. There was a guy making pizzas too, which we thought was a fab idea. The food was amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Not sure if my review has been received, have got a few problems with my tablet. If not here it is again. Arrived back home yesterday after a 3 night stay. Room excellent, food excellent, staff were lovely and the hosts William and Katrina made us very welcome. This little gem was found by my husband on the internet and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We will certainly be visiting again. Gillian and Michael

Excellent stay at the Allanton Inn. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Meals (breakfast and dinner) utilised local produce and were of very high quality. Welcoming and friendly staff, lovely country pub with nice beer garden. We would highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit this area of the Borders.

After a long road trip and some slightly dubious accommodation in the previous three weeks, it was a delight to arrive at the Allanton Inn, our base while we visited relatives nearby. Our bedroom in the front was beautifully arranged, immaculately clean and with adequate space for our (large) suitcases. The shower room was equally perfectly maintained and functional. We enjoyed the decor and the everything clearly managed with care and attention. Dinner and breakfast downstairs were both outstanding, making best use of local produce to produce delicious meals. We would have no hesitation in going back to the Inn in future.
