The food at The Bear is of an excellent standard. My sea bream fillet was exquisite, perfectly cooked and served in a subtle chilli and garlic broth with vegetables. My partner had venison, again cooked to perfection. The NZ Sauvignon Blanc was perfectly crisp, fruity and cool and matched the fish well. Add to this great service and a beautiful old building that oozes character and history, the whole experience is certainly one that I hope we will repeat very soon.
