The Source Hotel Music & Spa

Beautiful hotel located out of the city. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We booked the natural mystic suite which is unbelievable! Food and pool area really nice. Only downside is there wasn’t enough loungers around the pool but not sure this was because we went to a weekend wedding here and more people than normal.

So 3 months after having our reservation cancelled by The Source just a week before our stay we are still waiting the refund of our deposit! We have had to charge back through our credit card company to try and have any chance of getting our deposit back! I’m sure this place is lovely if you get your stay but should you be one of the unfortunate bookings that they choose you cancel at the last minute then you’ll be waiting indefinitely for your money back! Looking back through all the reviews this seems like something that happens far too often. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

We stayed at The Source for 2 nights in April 2025. We are a family of 6 and booked 3 twin rooms. The first thing to say about the hotel, is that it is obviously owned by someone, or by a group of people, who know what quality looks like. The hotel looks exactly like the photos, It is a boutique hotel with some fantastic touches and facilities. The buildings, the pool, the Spa, and the gardens, are all fantastic. Tasteful, well designed, and incredibly well maintained. However, in stark contrast to the appearance, the management of this hotel is very very poor. I would summarise it by saying that the guest services team is a. absent, b. takes no ownership for the client experience, and c. lacks any empathy for what a client may expect when booking and staying in a property like this one. As soon as we checked in, there were clues all around that the management was not engaged in the client experience. We saw guests being poorly served and becoming frustrated, numerous gaps in the organisation, some of which were explained away by the fact that the hotel 'had just hosted a wedding', and an on-site team that looked tired and disinterested. The biggest challenge with our own stay, was the checkout. We were leaving early for a 10.50am flight, and discussed the arrangements with the reception the day before. We agreed that we would order a taxi at 8am, for an 8.30am collection. Sounds easy? You would think so, but for some reason the reception failed to mention that they woul

My husband got food poisoning from omelette and the staff were not friendly, sink was blocked. They had very loud music at swimming pool which we were not aware of. The gardens and swimming pool were lovely.

Unreliable place!! We booked and paid in full 6 months before going. 2 weeks before departure they simply told us that they did not have our room and that they were going to give us a lower cost one without reimbursing the difference. We tried to understand and they told us that because the prices of the rooms had gone up they would not honor the difference!! They then proceeded to cancel our reservation without our permission. It was terrible!! Do not got there!! Or you may end up without a room

The hotel itself is really nice, the staff are helpful, the pool area is lovely, the restaurant is good (although breakfast is sparse) however we were severely disappointed with our room. Staying in one of the standard rooms we were allocated a room with a front door that didn’t lock nor close properly. It was very damp, the mattress and pillows were damp to touch. The bathroom was shocking, very dirty and damaged. I am surprised that hotel management thought it was acceptable to put guests in there…see pictures. Due to the damp in the room the bathroom had a lot of black mould which had also transferred onto the towels provided. When we complained to front desk they mentioned that they receive complaints about these rooms a lot so best to avoid when booking this hotel!!
