Very good choice for an overnight stay on the Volta River. Pleasantly quiet bungalows with a terrace right on the river bank and still no mosquitoes during my stay! Idyllic view. My bungalow itself is in dire need of renovation, however. But peace and quiet and a view are much more important here. Not much works though. Wifi doesn't work, but I got a router from the staff so it worked. Some lights don't work (for the terrace, for example), it's also relatively dark inside, there are no power plugs, no hairdryer, weak shower, but good air conditioning. I order beef in the evening, it's not eatable. So tough and so hard that you can't even cut it with a sharp knife, neither bite it with your teeth. After complaining, I was only charged for the side dishes. Breakfast wasn't special either, bacon or ham were just as unknown as fried eggs, there was only kind of dry omelette, the chef doesn't know anything else.

Pros: - Beautiful views. - Boat trip was very slow. Cons: - Rats or mice were scurrying and biting through the ceiling in ours and our friend’s chalets. To the point where we thought they would get through. It made you concerned about health hazards with this. - Shower drain was blocked and as there was no barrier with the rest of the bathroom, the bathroom would flood after a shower. - The bathroom walls/ceiling leaked when it rained. - Occasionally yellow water came out of the taps. Our friends in another chalet and a room noticed the same. - Our friends room had visible mold in their room. - No shuttle service to the airport for groups despite another resort nearby offering such a service. - Slow food service. - Pool seemed a bit unkept. - Loud music nearby on weekends, except an 8am wake-up from this. We got woken at 5 on Sunday by a speaker nearby (I think saying prayers?) that went on over an hour. It was strange as in our country you can’t play such loud music at certain times and certainly not in nature places so as to not disturb local wildlife or other people. It kind of disrupted the calming views and sounds of nature. - No gym or place to exercise.

Beautiful location & gardens friendly staff. Good facilites the afternoon boat tour on lake Volta was stunning. Restaurant food provided a good selection with local dishes as well. Rooms very comfortable clean and cool. A great choice for families and solo travellers

We spent more than a week at this homey hotel and it was a happy stay. We had one of the cottages with a relaxing view of the Volta river. Restaurant served great food and you must try all the cocktails. The grounds are clean and green. Sometimes there is live music evening entertainment so don’t hide in your room. It was bliss for us and we’d happily go back.

Beautiful grounds in a magnificent location right on the Volta make up for tired rooms. The staff are all so kind and helpful, especially the restaurant staff and pool attendants. The boat ride was serene and lovely. Our rooms were clean but showed some wear and tear. One of our rooms had good water pressure and the other room had little water pressure. We enjoyed sitting in different locations around the hotel to relax and read. The band at dinner on New Years Eve was really good.

I was there for lunch while traveling. The place is gorgeous with a view on the Volta lake and a perfectly kept garden. I chose tilapia with spinach sauce and yam and it was absurdly delicious. Such a wonderful mixed of spices! I couldn’t finish it because it was a huge portion but I really felt sorry to leave some. The chef came from the kitchen to make sure everything was ok and she was very nice and friendly. The service was fast enough.

This place has really scenic views on the riverfront. Rooms are clean, abundant hot water, and ok WiFi (on and off a lot though). The restaurant is really nice, but expensive (150 cedis for buffet - $20 USD). Only negative experience was being told “it’s not meat, it’s just sausage” after ordering a vegetarian dish that came with meat in it. Hotel is busy during the day with people using the grounds, pool, restaurant, and lake but it clears out fast. Night guests were minimal during our stay.

Die Lage und die Anlage des Afrikiko River Front Resort ist sehr gelungen. Die Anlage ist grosszügig und gepflegt mit einem schönen Pool. Die Chalet sind sehr sauber und wohnlich eingerichtet. Das dazugehörende Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, mit einer grossen Auswahl und einem guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
