I don't know how this hotel has a 3* rating. It's more like a hostel. The location, near the ferry port and train station, walking distance to the old town, etc, is its redeeming feature. In mid August, our room's air-conditioning didn't work, the ceiling fan was incredibly noisy, and the shower created a flood however careful we were. We asked to change room, which took some persuasion to make that happen. The next morning I heard another guest complain about flooding, we weren't alone. The rooms, fairly clean and spartan, have little storage space. There are kettles but no fridges. They held some perishables in the kitchen fridge for us. The breakfast is pretty basic, medium to low quality ingredients. On our last morning, we had to leave early and were told by reception we wouldn't be able to have the breakfast for which we'd prepaid. As it was, the nightporter opened up at 6am, and we were able to grab a coffee and a yoghurt on the fly, not before checking we were on the list! The lack of lounge or sitting area makes it feel like a dormitory rather than a hotel. Avoid unless you have an early departure from the ferry port.
