Airlie Guest House

What an amazing relaxing 10 days we had staying at Airlie Beach Guest House in May 2024. So unique meeting different travellers from different parts of the world staying in the same place. Mick you have created something special. Standards of cleanliness excellent and breakfast provided was great with special mention to Mick ( the owner) for his home made banana and chocolate chip muffins. Along with his team (Ryan and Lydia) we were provided with useful information about the area and tours we went on. We did not hire a car and felt this was not a problem, as we were able to walk into centre of town and the beautiful boardwalk by the Marina. We ate out each evening but if you wanted to cook yourself the kitchen had all equipment needed. My favourite spot was to sit on the balcony sofa and look out at the view. Thank you once again Mick, Meagan Ryan and Lydia for special memories. ❤️

What a fabulous place to stay. It’s a short walk to the restaurants, bars and marinas (maybe a taxi back up the hill). You get the best of both worlds here - it’s like an AirBnB with kitchen facilities and a laundry room. It’s also a bed and breakfast but without the formalities of a set dining time. Mick prepares continental breakfast each morning to help yourself whenever you feel like it. The rooms are sparkling clean and comfortable and the common areas are spacious with great views over the ocean. Mick was helpful before and during our stay with tips and assistance on transfers and activities. Probably the best accomodation we had during our 3 weeks in Australia. Thanks to Mick, Ruben & Anna for your hospitality and Megan for the designing of this amazing property.

I booked the Airlie Guest House via a recommendation from a friend and I was not disappointed! Such a lovely quiet spot, the room was beautifully equipped for our stay and it was great having the kitchen facilities too! The breakfast included was a great homely touch and we enjoyed our time here very much. The host & staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and gave us many inside local tips for exploring Airlie Beach… even dropped us to the ferry port on our departure! Highly recommend, would definitely stay again!

Ok. Positives first. Good host, very friendly,knowledgeable and helpful. Good spot and nice view. Nice kitchen area upstairs and smaller one downstairs Now the negatives! Whatever you do don't stay on the ground floor rooms! Noise from the above rooms can be unbearable. Ceiling must be made of balsa wood as you can hear every stomp and tread from above. Mentions to be quiet above but each of every occupent took no notice. Still suffering tonight with the latest elephants above.

Nice location, short walk to the main street. Stayed in the lower floor - nice view of the water, mountains and sunrise! Mick, the host was excellent - shared a lot of information, insights, freshly baked yummy muffins/cakes daily. Property was kept clean. Was slightly concerned with the shared toilets but no issues at all, was cleaned more often than regular hotels. Regular breakfast with cereals, bread, jams, coffee/tea, freshly cut fruits was available all day. Overall, excellent accomodation.

We have just enjoyed 9 nights at this beautiful guest house. The guest house is very well set up & includes a well equipped shared kitchen, dining area (inside & out) & TV area. Laundry facilities are also provided for guests to use. Lovely generous continental breakfast is provided (and plunger coffee) that sometimes includes Mick’s deliciously moist choc/banana muffins. The deck has a great view to the bay where you can sit & enjoy a drink or just soak up the view. It was great to utilise the shared kitchen to cook a couple of evening meals & relax after busy days out & about. The shared areas are a great way of chatting with other guests. There are also plenty of areas for guests to relax/utilise so it never feels crowded if all the rooms are occupied. The guest house is kept spotless & Mick is a great host with a wealth of knowledge with good suggestions on what to see & do & where to eat. It is easy to see that he has a great passion for the guest house. We would not hesitate recommending this as a great place to stay. Ricky & Janette

Lovely accommodation, away from the night time noise of central Airlie Beach. Great facilities, with a communal kitchen. Lovely veranda to sit out on, and be visited by cockatoos! Mark was helpful in booking tours in advance - highly recommend Red Cat Whitsundays day tour. Ryan and Lydia looked after us wel, and b friendly.

I have just stayed here this week and you cannot fault it. It is so beautiful here, it really feels like a home away from home, the rooms are impeccable and mine even had a little balcony with a swing chair. Mick and his team are so welcoming and really take the time to make sure you get the best out of Airlie Beach. Talking to other travelers is great - you never know who you’re going to meet. So quiet and peaceful to guarantee a good nights sleep. Highly recommend staying here.

We are on a two month tour of Australia and have stayed a lot of different places but our stay at the Airlie Guest house is up at the top of the list for good decisions on places to stay. Right from our arrival and meeting Mick the owner and operator of this guest house I knew it was going to be a great stay. The property was absolutely first class. Luxurious finishes to the guest house and grounds. They put a lot of pride into their guest house and its operation. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and good quality linens. The common areas were extensive and although you could say hi to the other guest you are not on top of each other as there are many different areas to relax. They provide a continental breakfast with toast (jams, PB, even vegemite sampler), coffee, selection of cereals, yogurt, milk and juice. On the second day we were even treated to some home made fruit cake. This really is a special place run by special people. Mick was so informative about things to do in the area. Our only regret was we had not planned to be there longer.
