B&B Villa San Marco

Quirky family run b and b very close to valley of the temples. If you like to walk, you can walk there. The accommodation is down a narrow dirt track and we did meet cars every time, but the locals tend to reverse to let you go forward. The accommodation is rural and has animals but wasn't overly noisy. The pool area was busy - although this is probably not somewhere you would stay to sit by a pool! The owners were friendly and very helpful.

Love our stay in this lovely villa. Huge area with almond and olive trees, cactus plants, and more. Family run and everyone is so friendly. Those travelling with children will enjoy the mini zoo area with guinea pigs, chicken, geese, pigs and even a donkey. There are also 8 peacocks that roam freely in the villa. We enjoyed our evening walks around the area. Delicious and generous sicilian breakfast provided with our direct booking. No problem getting to the villa via the dirt track, even with our rental Fiat 500!

This wonderful, family – owned B&B has everything you want… Location (near Valley of the Temples), peace and quiet as it is in a secluded place but close enough to town… And most importantly, it had the best food that we have had in all seven weeks in Italy… I have to commend the chef for what was an incredible five course meal for a very reasonable price… I would highly recommend this B&B if you are an in Sicily… Make sure that you order the dinner…

We had a wonderful limited stay in Villa San Marco. After seeing the place, we wished we could have stayed longer. It is located next to the Valley of the Temples and there were trails that led to some of the temples. The property has been owned and run by the same family for many generations. Very quirky, charming and lots of character. The host family is very friendly and responsive; we received lots of information even before we got to the place. There are lots of animals throughout the property giving it a very homey feel. The breakfast was very good with the family making their own jams/spreads. Our group highly recommends staying at Villa San Marco.

Our stay at Villa San Marco was incredible. Vincenzo and his family have created a magical, inviting oasis that gave us a beautiful experience of Sicilian culture. The buildings were part of a 19th century homestead and have been beautifully decorated in Sicilian and family style. The grounds are landscaped with Mediterranean vegetation. There are farm animals and friendly dogs to greet you. Breakfast is generous and served on the terrace overlooking the temples. The Villa is on the grounds of the temple park and feels very removed from the hustle bustle of Agrigento itself. Be forewarned, the stretch of road to get to the Villa is dirt and rocky, but it is worth the drive. We would recommend any visitor to Agrigento wanting a true Sicilian experience to stay for a few days.

Real Sicilian villa experience with the view of the temples while having fresh homemade breakfast (or lounging in the pool!) .Don't be discouraged by the mentioned dirt road drive, it's maybe one one-minute ride and is just bumpy. You will be rewarded with great family hospitality and the best location for visiting the Valley of the Temples. Ask if there's a dinner on a particular night, if not bring your own . You'll hardly find a restaurant with a better ambiance and views. They sell wine (or BYOB). In case you are allergic beware of the presence of dogs and farm animals.
