Adrakos Apartments (Adults Only)

We stayed at the apartments across the road from Adrakos Restaurant and could see the restaurant from our room. We were stunned by the wonderful views across the bay to Spinalonga and the other islands and very impressed by the food and service at this restaurant. A simple menu of locally sourced food which was always well cooked kept us coming back for several meals during our stay.Thank you to the knowledgeable staff and chefs.

This beautiful hotel is located on the side of the mountain overlooking Elounda and the bay. The views from all the bedrooms are breath taking and some of the best in Crete. The hotel itself consists self contained rooms with self catering facilities or you can eat at the hotel's restaurant which serves superb food.

On the top of a hill roughly halfway Agios Nicolaos and Elounda center lies Adrakos. A great place to stay. Nice apartments, good restaurant, two lovely dogs, a clean swimming pool and above all that the best views over sea of whole Crete. The apartment is cleaned every day, and we had fresh towels every day on request, shower/ bathroom okay. There's a small kitchenette but we did not use that at all, because the restaurant serves good meals as does the Taverna's down in Elounda. The bed is good with mosquito net and ac and we had two sets of furniture outside to enjoy the warm September sunshine and pretty Cretian evenings

This is an easy recommendation for everyone who is planning to visit crete. The apartments are furnished relativlely simple but contain everything you might need for your stay, including a small kitchen and cooking utensils. They are being cleaned regularly. The location of the apartments is great, it's close to Agios Nikolaos and Elounda, both of which can be reached by bus ( a bus stop is right next to the apartments). I arrived at night and when I woke up the next morning I was astounded: the view is just breathtaking! You can see the mountains as well as the sea right from your window. The food, that the restaurant offers, is delicous. You can taste that it's freshly prepared. The real highlight of my stay where the people that work here, the way they took care of me was amazing! Everyone was so kind and open, it was such a pleasure to be able to have people like them around me. Despina gave me some great tips about what places are worth a visit. She also took care of my breakfast, I didn't even have to order something, she just asked me if I had any alergies or if there's food I don't like and created something. And she never disappointed! Same goes for Efthimis. Whenever I had dinner at the restaurant, he made some great suggestons as to what I should try. During my whole stay, both of them made sure that I felt comfortable and enjoyed my time. Usually, I don't write reviews but I felt like this is the least I can do after the amazing time I had at Adrakos Apartments.

Despite a couple of regretable niggles we had an immensely pleasurable stay at Adrakos set on the hillside overlooking Mirabello Bay a truly spectacular location arranged along the lines of a Spanish pueblo. The less expensive rooms appear to represent far better value as they are larger than our suite and from our very brief occupation of room 26 better equipped. If you are a sun lover opt for an upstairs room and downstairs if you prefer shade. Most guests only seem to stay for a few days and have hire cars the major plus point for us being we had the fairly substantial immaculately clean pool to ourselves for most of the day almost like having your own private villa but at a fraction of the cost. For those without a hire car the centre of Elounda is barely 5minutes away at a remarkable €10 each way in an air conditioned Mercedes. Breakfast is substantial,varied and served at your table and can be tailored to individual guests preferences. Our stay at at Adrakoswas made truly special by the presence of Efthimis who seemed to be everywhere and I trust Anna & Costis fully appreciate what a unique talent they have in this remarkable young man who incidentally made us the finest Mojitos we had during our stay on the island and we undertook extensive research . The resort certainly has it's shortcomings and quirks, needs investment and a more thorough maintenance regime but as a base for the budget conscious travellers we have no hesitation in recommending a stay at this rather unique venue
