This was a last minute booking and our original choice in Chania was no longer available. How lucky we were! The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking Aghia Marina. There are 3 buildings and we were in the one furthest from reception. The room was spacious and very clean. Plenty of storage space, big shower with constant hot water, fridge, sink and hob (we didn't use), large comfortable bed, and a safe available for a small fee. We were on the ground floor so had a patio area. Large TV and good Air Conditioning. The grounds are well looked after, plenty of trees and flowers etc. The main block houses reception, dining room and access to the bar and pool area. We booked for b&b but evening meals are also available. The breakfast was plentiful and varied, offering cold meats, cheeses, salad, several types of bread, pastries, cereals, eggs etc. 4 types of fresh fruit juices and 2 coffee machines, ensuring there wasn't a massive queue for drinks in the morning. There is a nice sized pool with a bar which, as far as I could tell, was open from just after breakfast until late evening. All the staff we encountered were very welcoming and happy to deal with any questions we had. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk down to the seafront, it is a pleasant walk along a twisty road with lovely views of the olive groves, mountains and sea. The walk back is a bit more challenging, especially when the weather is hot. The hotel offers a minibus service to and from the seafront, it runs every couple of hours and has to be booked, you only have to give 5 minutes notice so this wasn't an issue.
