Hotel Suite Villa Maria

We had a very relaxing week at this hotel. Although we were initially allocated a disappointing villa (overlooking road and aircon unit), we were moved on request the next day by the super helpful staff. The new villa was much better, had amazing views and meant that we were able to enjoy the outdoor space and sleep well. Otherwise we really wouldn’t have had a good holiday at all. The resort and villas are very clean and spacious. Would recommend taking advantage of the green scheme which gives €20 credit for each day housekeeping not used to spending hotel bar/restaurants. We ate in all 3 areas in the hotel - we particularly enjoyed the tapas in the bar. I wouldn’t recommend the Trattoria restaurant though- 2 of us ordered lasagna which was cold ( I think it was frozen and not reheated fully), and both of us had upset stomachs the next day. Breakfast was very good, especially the poached eggs which were fab, but the staff need to do something about the significant amount of blatant food removal by some guests, which is the worst I’ve seen. One other thing we hadn’t anticipated was the significant number of small children and families; as a party of 3 adults we were very much in the minority. To be fair this wasn’t an issue except at breakfast time which was fairly noisy/chaotic. The pool areas were great - the upper pool in particular was quiet (no children) with lots of free loungers. Would agree with previous comments that this is a solid 4 not 5 star (quite a few minor issues which were resolved quickly and not the luxury touches and level of finish in the villas which would mean the extra star) Overall though a lovely relaxing stay in a nice resort in a good location just above La Caleta, with exceptionally helpful and pleasant staff.

This was our 1st visit to Villa Maria, we wanted some winter sun. I cannot speak highly enough or the venue, the staff and the accommodation, simply brilliant. Tias, Rafaella, Daniel and all the staff were fantastic. The venue was peaceful, beautiful and surpassed our expectations. I loved it

We would like to thank all the staff at Hotel Suite VillaMaria in Tenerife for their excellent service and kindness. Our experience is fantastic, and we feel very comfortable here. Our villa is very spacious, and everything needed in place, cozy private garden with good outdoor furniture and beautiful views. The restaurants La Torre and Blue Oasis are great and the pools are also beautiful and good for relaxing there. Special greetings for outstanding service and kindness are to Marianna and Giselle and (can't remember the name of) the head waiter at Blue Osasis as well as other staff at all the hotels restaurants, all great. Also, we send special greetings to our extremely fun and service-friendly guy at Lounge Bar Le Veanda for his service who makes crazy cocktails, we recommend trying. And let's not forget all the wonderful staff, the guys who took us to and from Los Lagos golf course to play golf from our villa. Our wonderful vacation will end soon, and the occasion here was also to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary which was in November. We are here for the second time this year, the former time was in January and February and we will definitely come back in the next coming years. Thank you

Resort is excellent the staff are friendly and most helpful. Immaculately clean. Excellent breakfast the omelettes are perfection. This was our third visit with thoroughly recommend. The Terrace bar is a lovely place to have a pre-dinner drink and the staff are so lovely we definitely recommend Villa Maria for a holiday.

Our happy place… we visited once again as a total group of ten, aging from 11 to 76. There is something for everyone here, bringing us together. We love this low key luxurious family resort. The staff are incredible, in particular the amazing Bea who runs the kids club, her wonderful sister Laura who is one of the supervisors at breakfast and lunch and Rafaella who runs the breakfast and lunch brilliantly. They go the extra mile to make us feel special. There have been some updates this year, the bar has moved upstairs and this is now a real destination. We will continue to visit so long as the sun continues to shine on La Caletta, the wonderful staff remain smiling and the standards remain high.

The villas are what makes this place 5*. So well equipped, with beautiful decor, comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture. There's nothing not to like. We used our villa and garden (with Jacuzzi) every day. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The pool is also very nice and mostly quiet. Never had an issue finding sunbeds at any time of day and there is a poolside snack bar for daytime refreshments. We never ate here during the day as we tended to eat at the villa for lunch if we weren't out for the day. Service is mostly excellent at this hotel. Most staff around the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The cleaning team always say hello and it makes a difference The hotel has the best of both worlds. However, I do believe slight improvements could be made to enhance the experience further. We ate at both restaurants in the evening and although the service and ambience was good, the food was quite underwhelming, especially for the price. I'd definitely recommend dining out in one of the lovely restaurants in La Caleta instead. There is a rooftop bar. The barman is great and makes lovely cocktails. There was a DJ on some (but not all) evenings. This created a nice atmosphere on those nights. It was empty at other times. The hotel did feel exceptionally quiet most of the time, so I do feel some further evening entertainment, such as live music might go a long way to improving the atmosphere. There is a plaza next to reception that is the focal point of the hotel, but this also seems under utilised. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would consider staying here again. With improvements to the food in the restaurants and a few more evening entertainment options, it could be even better.
